Every coach goes through up's and downs in the NHL . All this FIRE "WD" crap is non sense like the bottom feeders would have already gone thru their coaches a few time this season. He'll be here for a few more years on the learning curb,  so settle down Christ chill out

WD will need His blessing to survive the season.

yes maybe I think around December 15 th team will have to move one way or another an endorse the rebuild under WD he may then relax an fully focus on developing the young guys may be maybe not but somewhere in around that date based on strength of schedule we should see something in way of anouncement it gives management a little time to look at all the options an be pragmatic about expectations .Right it would seem WD has big anchor around his neck an the noose is tightening every day not a good think maybe clouding his thinking on how he is coaching this team.

2013/2014 Canucks finished 24th with 83 points drafted 6th

2014/2015 Canucks finished 2nd in division 101 points....

Results speak for themselves.

Unless of course you want to take a flyer on Boucher?  Crow?  Carlyle or Wilson?

1 season + 20 games and "fire the coach"

the year before that all of our players had crappy seasons, everyone was due for a bounce back.

what happened in the playoffs when the coaches earn their money? got out coached. I gave him a pass since it was his first year, but this season he showed that he hasn't learned a thing and diverted from his own philosophy or rolling 4 lines.

I think Willie stays for the full season. Hovat developed nicely last season and the rookies are coming along this season. Management wants to see what they have in their prospect pool and keep them up if they continue to develop. Willie will get a pass during this difficult transition year.

You also have to look at the roster and see where the team should be. ~.500 early on isn't that bad considering our defense is questionable and our offense is quite young.

Hamhuis had a rough game today and looks to have lost a step. The d-core plays a huge role in wins and losses, and we don't really have an identity back there, but just a bunch of individual players paired together. Remember when we had a shutdown pair, two-way pair, and steady 3rd pair? That was an identity and the players knew what was expected of them and played to their unique strengths while being paired with someone they had chemistry with.

If you're going to fire WD you might as well trade the Sedins and get rid of Horvat too.

This mess is as much the coaches' faults as it is our veterans as it is our rookies. Everyone is playing crap right now, and everyone is making mistakes, including the coaching staff and management. Keeping Virtanen was clearly a mistake, not trading for a defenceman in the off-season was a mistake, not adjusting the PP and PK is a mistake, not to mention all the brutal on-ice mistakes every single player on this team is making.

Everyone needs a boost. Closed door meeting please.

I'd say Willie is nowhere close to the end of his leash. I suspect management is expecting a tumultuous time and will keep Willie for at least two more years. If he fails to help us rebound after this re-tooling, then he might be sacked.

hamhuis has had 3 rough yrs  not a rough game. he cant skate anymore, makes horrible turnovers, plays die on his stick.  Pretty sure benning wont be resigning this guy hes done.

Then don't log onto a hockey forum if you don't want to talk hockey.

The original post was serious? Like for Cereal? Are you cereal?

Most people on this planet need a perspective. If you talk "stoopid" I am obliged to call you out on being stupid.
