#RedWings place L. Ferraro and #Leafs place P. Granberg on waivers.

Worth a shot making a claim on Ferraro??. Sounds like a hard worker, could be a guy we use on the PK, listed as a center too so maybe can take some draws if he is any good on the draws.

Granberg is a rhd 6'3 200lbs, swedish.

ami the only one that see it the opposite?

losing one goal games mean that we are i every game and there all close and exciting

much better then losing by large margins

Just looking at it as 1 goal losses isnt sufficient. In the majority of those games, they gave up the lead, and either lost outright in regulation, or lost in overtime.

Either way, the majority of those "1 goal games" were not a result of them battling hard to come back in the third only to fall just short.

Context matters, and their 3rd periods have been brutal. Ray Ferraro was right to blast the Canucks.

Granberg might be worth a shot. Not that Hockey's Future is accurate but this sounds intriguing.

Talent Analysis

Granberg is a defensive defender with very good size. He has both strong defensive acumen and can chip in offensively on occasion with a strong first-pass. He plays a smart defensive game and is rarely caught out of position. Granberg does a good job containing opposition forwards in the defensive zone due to his large wing span and body position. He plays a similar style to one-time Maple Leaf defender Carl Gunnarsson but with more of a physical edge to his game. He is expected to become an even more dominant defender as he matures

Would usually agree with you, but not the way the Canucks have lost some of the one-goal games...hard to see anything positive when the team blows leads in the third only to lose in OT.  Those losses don't bode well for the whole competitiveness aspect of how the team plays in the third period.

im sure ray just wants to see his son have a chance at a regular nhl job.

Both players seem like they could be grabbed, as teams are now running into more injuries and may be willing to risk losing one of their underperforming players on the waiver wire if they snag either of these guys.

Granbergs case I guess they want to see more from corrado and granberg must not fit into babcocks style so he was the casualty on their defence

Tampa Bay could very well pick up Ferraro. They're being pelted with injuries.

I'd love to see JB put a claim in for Granberg. Kid's ready, just had a bad injury in training camp. Problem is, we have no room and would have to send Hutton. So a reluctant pass.

K - Canucks have Hutton day-to-day and Weber has been awful all around. Furthermore, Toronto took Corrado as depth and this could be relatively nice payback.

Petter Granberg: 23, RHed defenseman, 6'3, 205 pounds, 600,000 cap hit, not afraid of rough play/dirty areas, looking like a dependable defensive defenseman at the AHL level. Won SHL championship, was on the Swedish team that won WC.

It's always a bit risky to lose your place in the waiver-wire line-up, but this could be a good short-term injury solution until Hutton is back (maybe only one game), then he or Weber could be sent down. No real loss outside of moving down the line-up IMO.
