Denmark on Monday stepped up its border controls with Germany on the heels of Sweden’s move to tighten security due to an influx of refugees.

Travelers coming from Germany will have to undergo spot checks, though the new measures weren’t expected to affect “ordinary” Danes and Germans crossing the border, Danish Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmusssen said, according to the Associated Press.

“We are introducing temporary border controls, but in a balanced way,” Loekke Rasmussen said. “If the European Union cannot protect the external border you will see more and more countries forced to introduce temporary border controls.”

The crackdown comes as Sweden introduced new ID checks for all passengers entering the country by train, bus or ferry after 160,000 people applied for asylum in the country last year, the AP reports. Danish Transport Minister Hans Christian Schmidt called the move sad and “extremely annoying,” according to the BBC.

This isn't really new. Have the countries in Eastern Europe have now surrounded themselves in fences and walls. Europe was never offering asylum on a large scale. At best, you end up in Germany and got some kind of temporary help. The whole concept of Europe welcoming the refugees with open arms was an illusion. Germany let in some, because they have a shortage of workers in menial jobs. Most other countries said no from the start.

Many of the migrants are not even form the middle east. There are many Africans in these giant hordes of refugees.  The Africans have been fleeing for over a decade. Many of these refugees are illiterate and have no concept of the social, political and economic structure or laws of the countries they are fleeing to. They are desperate no doubt but centuries of ignorance are catching up to them real quick.

I doubt any of us in the west sitting in our cozy homes understand the magnitude of these migrant hordes ? These desperate people are literally caught between a rock an a hard place. There is no logistical strategy that could have predicted or contained how quickly the destabilization of the middle east would spill over in to the rest of Europe.

This is only the beginning of a much larger problem for Europe. The negative economic impact will eventually be felt world wide as Europe is forced to deal with hundreds of thousands of terrified, angry, and confused humans who just want to live in peace.

They escape one tyrant only to be oppressed by another. How can Europe possibly deal with this as it is only going to get worse as the middle east is ripped to shreds ?

Understandably Europeans are getting fed up with the crazies in these hordes and I have no doubt there will be armed clashes soon.

There is a disturbing group out of the UK called Britain First that is full of racist crazy religious lunatics trying to stop these migrants from entering the UK . These POS white trash idiots are going to throw that cup of gas on the fire I have no doubt

The last time Sweden enforced ID checks was about 50 years ago. They are doing the same with the Finnish border and presumable with Norway as well. This action has forced Denmark to do the same with the German borders. Free movement between countries is being clamped down on signaling a change in tolerance towards the free movement of migrants. This is news.

This "crisis" is a long steady increase a decade in the making. In 2008 there were 20,000 applicants per month heading for Europe. In 2012 it went above 40,000 per month. In 2014 it hit 70,000 per month and now its over 100,000 asylum seekers per month.

As the population explosion in sub saharan Africa hits its full stride and their already extremely limited resources pass the breaking point the flood of migrants is only going to get much much worse.

Organized gangs of 100s of migrants decided to commit various sexual assaults across Germany on New Year's:

What is particularly disturbing is that the attacks appear to have been organised. Around 1,000 young men arrived in large groups, seemingly with the specific intention of carrying out attacks on women.

90 criminal complaints in Cologne alone:

This should end well for everyone involved.

Is WWIII avoidable?  Competition for resources?  World economic crisis?  Over population?  Trump as US president?  North Koreans detonate Hydrogen bomb.  When do the lights dim on us all?  God the Canucks had better win a Cup, and quickly!

Damn, is there any Western Boomer politician who isn't a 1% sellout with the gall to demand that the younger generations accept conditions that wouldn't have been tolerated in their era?

Donald Trump?

Thats what happens when you destabilize the middle east and cause wars especially proxy wars there, the asylums, refugees etc. will just spread out from the middle east and destabilize western societies. You can thank good ol' USA for that along with their allies like Israel. If the West had mind their own business, nothing like this would happen but of course money and oil rule all and destabilizing Syria wasn't because of just a regime change it was to serve Western self interest specifically America's self interest. Then we have people in forums talking about bombing the middle east and muslim countries but they are too ignorant to know what the consequences of that will be. The destabilization in Syria, Sudan, Libya and Iraq has cause a huge spike in the number of asylum seekers, refugees and immigrants and we are all waiting to see which country is next on the list.

I am glad there is someone who sees through the western media fecal filter as well. America is fully to blame for creating this entire mess. Their private litter proxy armies they have been building for the last 30 years have now become self aware and the proverbial sh.. has hit the fan.
