No longer can people complain that the Canucks are playing Dorsett instead of their top scorers out when down by a goal!
aGENT
Makes sense...probably the next-most Hansen-esque guy on the team. Sadly Burr seems to have lost a step or he'd still be up there. You can see the effort's there but he just doesn't seem to have that extra gear anymore. Lots of hard miles on his not-young body though... Winter Soldier
Good to see. The Twins need someone with speed and hustle to help open things up. Putting Burrows on the top line over the last two seasons has been a death knell for offensive production.
Spotted Zebra
Burrows had his chance he'll be a healthy scratch by next year.

Follow Vancouver CanucksVerified account@VanCanucks Good thing Daniel will be able to protect Dorsett now. I must admit this is a surprise. You would think that you want someone playing with the Sedins who has the highest probability of converting the chances that the Sedins create -- like Vrby or Burrows. There would also be an argument for trying to boost the trade value of Vrby or Burrows. But most of the moves Willie has made have worked out pretty well so I am reluctant to criticize. Willie seems to care a lot about the psychology of the game and a lot of what he does seems focused to trying build confidence and reinforce the right attitudes. That sometimes leads to decisions that are surprising. In this case he might be rewarding Dorsett for playing the "right way". Or he might be putting a tough guy with the Sedins to deflect any trouble that comes up if other teams try to harass the Sedins or get them off their game. surtur
If they ice this goon line on the opening faceoff does Washington start their 4th line to protect their star players from getting hurt?

The Sedins play best with a forechecker who will go win board battles, retrieve the puck to them and get to the front of the net. Vrbata doesn't do any of that and Burr sadly no longer seems to have the extra gear to get to those puck battles like he used to.

mll
It's practice. My guess would be that he's keeping the spot warm for Hansen. He then moves back down to RW4 and Virtanen comes out. mll
Looks like an audition to choose between Vey and Cracknell. One will need to move when Sutter is ready to go - expected during the road trip. This is game 10 for Vey so after this game he will require waivers.
