86Viking
i dont think they move bowey for a rental but carrick could be available. He seems to fit what we need as well, could be good for Utica also
flickyoursedin
I think Hamhuis' value at best is two picks maybe a 2nd and a 3rd. In this draft year I'd be ecstatic with two more picks in the top 3 rounds. However it sounds like teams will be bidding for him so I wouldn't be surprised to see a 1rst round pick coming back but I won't get my hopes up on dreaming for Pouliot. Plus we would probably get a pick along with Carrick Bowey all day long. I watched him many times last season and he is so far above everyone else in his age range it wasn't even a contest most nights. He is a unique talent, who brings a skillset that not many dmen have. IMHAO. then you're looking at 5-6 years before that player(s) even makes a dent in the NHL. They Canucks don't have the depth to wait that long. They need dmen in the 20-22 range who are already developed.
Jiggs50
I'd happily take a 2nd + A level prospect.

Funny, I came on this topic to say exactly the same thing back at Jim Rutherford. I think we should make a trade with the Penguins because Rutherford is the type of a guy that will give up a 1st and a prospect for Hamhuis. I agree. They sold half the farm for Kessel, who IMHO could've gotten for free.

I would take Carrick and a conditional 2nd becomes a 1st if they reach cup final or conference final I'd LOVE Bowey but there's pretty much zero chance we get Bowey for Hammer without adding a LOT. Carrick maybe... but we're getting in to redundant Subban territory (small OFD)
Hoosierdaddy
Honestly Hammer is UFA, I'd take just the 2nd for him. Obviously everyone wants to shoot for the moon and extort a max return but I'm not sure that's likely. Take what you can get and move on. If the team wants him back then resign him in the summer. Get an asset and move forward. I'm more concerned that Calgary and Edmonton are winning the 'lets suck' sweepstakes. Lets get to losing and get some Fins. Fanuck
Hammer goes to a legit contender or he doesn't waive his NTC imo. Right now Pit is nowhere close to being a legit contender. Wsh/Dal could be a fit, especially if the Orpik/Carlson injuries don't turn out for the best.

If there's a bidding war for Hamhuis' services, then I wouldn't be surprised if Pitts (if they get to the level of desperation) gives us Pouliot for Hammer. We might have to add something for them to bite on that deal.

Noble 6
I still think sending a package including Hamhuis to Dallas for Honka would be our best move. Dallas is looking to go all in this year before the salary cap forces them to lose at least some of Goligoski, Demers, Nichuschkin, Scevior, Eaves, Oleksiak and Jordie Benn. They have a young glut of defenseman with Klingberg, Demers (who will probably resign), Oleksiak and Nemeth. Losing Honka is something that I think they would be willing to do in order to put their team over the top for the Playoffs.
