Losing With Pride
Would it have been worth trading him for a premium return at the deadline to a cup contender? ie. LA?
Gstank29
So Hamhuis is now the number 1 pending UFA Defenceman on the market
Smiley2051
Too unique of a player, good for Winnipeg. They can sign a guy to do Ladd's job for half the price.
Blueberries
Guessing 5 years at 7 million per. So now Ladd is gone.

Less term, I'm guessing he gets 8 mil/season
lethunder
My guess is 6 years at $7.5 million per season. They had to pay up big to not lose him.

Hobble
So friggin' happy that is he re-signed! Now dump Ladd to the highest bigger and give Wheeler the C!
wallstreetamigo
Lots of coin but honestly this is a good thing for Winnipeg from a optics standpoint to not lose a big name UFA. I am happy he stayed in Winnipeg andI have gained some respect for Byfuglien because as a UFA he could have probably got even more money and term. JV77
That is a really good deal for the Jets. Only 5 years, and under 8 mil almost a steal. He would've cashed in bigger had he went UFA. Buff brings so many different things.

Noseforthenet
He's also as close to home as he can get with that amount of money coming in, I can't see why he wouldn't re-sign. Unless he signed in Minnesota. Not with what they're paying Ryan Suter though. Best situation for him.
