Why are they mental patients? Because their ideas and policies don't line up with your lickspittle mentality and what you've being informed to believe by your overlord and his state run propaganda machine?

Or you just don't like women getting jobs they've earned and choosing to color coordinate when they go see an epic comedy routine?

We usually do end up on the same side of the aisle, but sometimes not.

At least when we disagree, it doesn't involve cheap shots and lowbrow garbage regarding what someone is wearing and what it says about them. I save that for Trump and his base, and their monotonous blather.

Moi aussi....

...I generally stay away from anything personal, at least when I'm debating with someone on these boards. The same can't always be said for my "debating counterparts", but what are you going to do. I just generally ignore their posts from that point on. (although I've never actually used the "ignore" button)

That being said, the "what someone is wearing" part is a grey area. When someone is walking around in a MAGA hat, a "I wish Hillary had married OJ" t-shirt" or a Tom Brady jersey, all bets are off....

If I may be so bold as to pat myself on the back here, I predicted it. (Although you are correct on one point. I thought the name-calling and boorish behavior would be toned down, once he was elected in hopes of broadening his base)

I knew his arrogance would play largely into how he "governed", but didn't think that he'd make some of the outlandish statements and decisions he has.

For me, the singular issue leading up to the election was Climate Change and we already knew what was going to happen there.

Sadly, frighteningly, horrifyingly, yes.

We also knew that protectionism and nationalism were pretty high on his "to-do" list, as was the appointment of Conservative judges to SCOTUS.

His simplistic and totally uneducated view on just about everything made him a perfect patsy for these ideals to flourish and grow like mushrooms in the minds of his mindless base.

I don't expect anyone to wade back through 2500 or so pages, but if you did, I think you'd see that a few of us were predicting an absolute train wreck if Trump were elected.

I know a few did state that Trump would be a horribly partisan president, but I wonder if we were all presented with some of what has occurred, would we believe the depths of depravity?

Northam admits to Michael Jackson black face. If the Democrats believe wearing black face 35 years ago is not racist, then he should not resign. But as it is, he needs to resign because he must remain true to his conscience as a dem. Fairfax must resign because a woman accused him of sexual assault, so he too must resign as a matter of conscience (believe her). The 3rd in command, the Attorney General must also resign as a matter of conscience because he used black face. It appears the 4th in command, the speaker of the house, the only non racist, a Republican, must assume the Governorship.

I looked. I cant find it. Source please.

Have read it, echos what Northam and Yang said.  Nowhere does it give unilateral right or freedom to literally kill newborns.  Cite the passage please

Northam is being told to step down by the entire democratic party, as is Fairfax as is the AG.  Yet again, your entire presmise of that is because they set the standard and are now forced to reside and abide by it.  So because your side of the fence is accepting of rape, harrassment, racism, abuse and don't demand anyone step down or be held to a higher standard it's...ok to demand the dems step down but the GOP members guilty of those issues are ok?  I don't follow.  But then I don't think any sane or non hypocritical individual could capably follow without calling someone out for how stupid that is

It's fairly easy to find.  I mean, you can follow and read legislative law but can't find a series of polls?  Fascinating

Speaking of wearing white, I see that you're not the only one to find humor in what those women were wearing:

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/newspolitics/trump-campaign-adviser-on-democrats-in-white-the-only-thing-missing-tonight-is-the-matching-hood/ar-BBTfd3f?li=AAggNb9

Quote

n his State of the Union address on Tuesday, President Trump made an appeal for bipartisanship, asking Congress to “reject the politics of revenge, resistance and retribution.”

That plea evidently didn’t resonate with one senior adviser to his reelection campaign. Katrina Pierson, who also served as Trump’s national campaign spokeswoman in 2016, took to Twitter after the speech to compare Democratic congresswomen who wore white in tribute to the suffragists to the Ku Klux Klan.

The only thing that the Democrats uniform was missing tonight is the matching hood,” Pierson tweeted early Wednesday morning.

Ah, yes Katrina Pierson. The same Pierson who received some $11,000 in unemployment benefits (SOCIALISM!) from the Texas Workforce Commission from January 2012 to November 2013—meaning she was receiving government support during a period in which she consulted for Ted Cruz’s senate campaign and was planning for her own run.

The same Katrina Pierson who was teaching a darkly conspiratorial class on the United Nation’s “Agenda 21” at a meeting of the Waco Tea Party. Under the UN’s aegis, she told the frightened crowd, Americans would be forced into crowded apartment buildings, and UN-empowered block captains would be “given police power over your neighborhoods.”

As bad as I knew he'd be, I'd say "no". Even I didn't think I'd hear the POTUS defending Vlad Putin while simultaneously discrediting his own Intelligence community, nor did I ever think I'd hear the commander in chief call a rival "Pocahontas" and receive all but zero reproach form his party.

To summarize: I expected Trump to be terrible, although I underestimated how terrible, but I definitely did not expect the cowardice of all these GOP politicians, who were critical of him during the campaign.

2020 he will have to run on a strong economy. Democrats will argue that started under them but either way I think he will focus on the economy, well really he can't run on anything else.

TBH, I'm a bit surprised that he doesn't do more of it. The only thing I can think of is that the more outlandish behavior is what really energizes his base. (We saw some of that already, with Ann Coulter panning his SOTU speech)

I think we all know how important the "Lock her up!" / "Build the Wall!" crowd is to Trump. I think it will come down to how much he decides to listen to his advisers and how much he decides to "go with his gut"....

I just don't believe in adding a u where one doesn't need to be. Trump can't spell his way out of a paper bag, even during a meal of hamberders and covefe.

One thing that I missed from last night was the fact that for part of the SOTU, Melania was wearing a single glove....

https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/lifestyle-buzz/melania-trump-wore-one-glove-to-the-state-of-the-union/ar-BBTdY5g

It's unsure whether this was an homage to Michael Jackson, or the Baltimore Orioles, who also wore a single glove for no apparent reason....
