ChuckNORRIS4Cup
Just saw this on the score. Vancouver Canucks forward Radim Vrbata will be out "for a bit" with a lower-body injury, head coach Willie Desjardins said Tuesday, adding he'll likely miss a week. Vrbata was hurt Sunday against the Colorado Avalanche. He scored his 12th goal of the season in a 5-1 Vancouver win. Maybe they are giving him time to consult with his wife, and submit the list of teams? The sooner done, the better.
Shaft
I wonder if this will affect whether or not he'll get traded. Can't trade players who will fail the physical right?

MJDDawg
If it's his hammy or groin, I doubt anyone picks him up. You never know with those things...could be a week or three, and no team wants have to explain to their fans why they just traded a good prospect or higher round pick for a guy who might be hampered by a lingering groin or hammy issue. It's just sooooo Canuck-like that this kind of thing would happen and potentially impact his value.
cdubuya
more bad luck for a team that constantly seems to have ill timed injuries
tas
he's fine. they're protecting an asset that is certain to be traded.
cripplereh
I thought it was going to come to this.I do hope it is because Benning is making a deal !
Mike Vanderhoek
This should not affect anything. I am sure the Canucks have laid the ground work and been in discussions about many of their assets being involved in trades to this point. Teams looking for specific assets know the players they have targeted much like Hamhuis being injured means nothing at the end of the day for teams looking at the player and what they bring to the table. Not unheard of to keep players out of the lineup with minor injuries to as has been said before here protect the asset during negotiations. Where's Wellwood
When we traded for Higgins in 2011, I believe his thumb was broken at the time.
firestorm238
"He'll be out a bit" This sure sounds like a coach that's not used to lying covering up for the fact that a player is likely on the way out. They're just keeping him safe until the deadline.
mpass1
Isn't Kris Russell injured too?
cuporbust
Ironic that they say a week , when it's almost exactly a week till deadline . I doubt he's even injured. This way when he plays his first game with his new team in a week they won't look like liars
DeNiro
Hopefully they're just being cautious with him. No point playing him if they're planning to trade him.
PhillipBlunt
So essentially he's doing the same thing at home as he was on the ice?
desiboynux4lifee*******
meh ? Maybe now Benning has a excuse to trade McCann or Gaunce, Griener or any of the remaining guys on Utica for more grinders. This works great for Benning.
