Me too ... classic #7/#8 player. Our top 4 is alright, but after that our D is horrific. Fingers crossed we don't get a tonne of injuries. Really wish we waived Sbisa and re-signed Hamhuis. Far better player for the same $$$.

I never really pondered a Hamhuis/Sbisa equation. But you're right, it doesn't compute does it.

He has actually looked very weak in his own end to me. And I know he is primarily a pp specialist but I haven't seen much that impresses me there either. And I don't remember his play in Dallas and Edmonton being especially noteworthy either. So I'm left scratching my head a little on this one. He looks fragile physically to me as well, hardly the image of an NHL defenseman.

Craig Button, as recently as last week, said Larsen is just not an NHL player.  The players in our locker room know Stecher is BY FAR the better player, so they know their chances of winning have been lessened to a degree by the stupidity of management.  This kind of decision cannot be good for the boys.

It doesn't. Add in the fact that 1. The signing of Eriksson means we are trying to compete and 2. We traded for the rich man's version of Sbisa in Gudbranson.

Hamhuis is the perfect fit for our bottom pairing. He made Tryamkin look good last year. Whether he is with Larsen, Biega, Tryamkin, Stecher, or in the top pairing he would have been that much needed veteran presence.

Has this soft as Bacel guy really made our team?  What the heck?

Oh come on, thats a little harsh. Stecher's physical game was a little closer to Jonny Gaurdeau than BizNasty too. Lets see where things are at in November!

Yes and Bieksa was the soul of the team. You have to move on.
