Guest
Nolan Patrick isn't huge at 1.91m and 88kg but he definitely is feisty.
*Buzzsaw*
I am hoping the Canucks won't be picking too high in 2017, but who knows. In any case, Canucks Scouts should keep their eye on Eeli Tolvanen, a Finnish forward. This kid has one of the most lethal shots I have seen in a long time, his release is exceptional and his accuracy is deadly. He was a star in the 2016 U18 Finnish Gold Medalists after just barely turning 17 years old, (birthday April 22nd 1999) had 7 goals to tie for the leading goalscorer in the tournament... he did even better in the U17's the year before. A little on the small side at 6' 181 lbs, but like I said, barely turned 17... so lots of time to grow. Currently playing for USHL Sioux City Musketeers. If the Canucks are drafting in a mid-pack position, (say 10th to 15th) this guy could be worth a look. Bob MacKenzie thinks highly of him:

BaerToBo
I know the Canucks have a need for an elite forward in next years draft but i cant help but think it would be smarter to pick another defenceman. In my opinion the Canucks will end up with the 8-10th pick barring any lotto picks. And if a defenceman like Liljegren or Foote are available i think they would fit our future perfectly. I think with us drafting Juolevi with our first pick this year it makes sense to build from the backend like Jim Benning already said he intends to do. I know we have grown used to having a team more focused on offence (other than last year) but drafting a top-4 dman has more value than a top-6 forward when it comes to trades. But even if we chose not to trade any having a future d-core of stars would be amazing for the canucks. Imagine this going forward: Juolevi-Liljegren/Foote Hutton-Tanev Tryamkin-Gudbranson But then again i could be completely wrong and those defenceman could bust and be bad picks. At the end of the day i have faith in Jim Benning to pick a good player

A hatty and dominated......I wonder how he looks next year? I saw some of that tournament. I was very impressed with Kristain Vesalainen. Big kid, good skater. slick dekes and drives hard to the net. Tippet was great too, seems like a big game type of guy, the guy you want on the ice when the games on the line.
ABNuck
Good year to trade a pick away to acquire a younger player who's NHL ready (we'll lose a few players due to age / UFA + EXP Draft).

Noble 6
I think Tolvanen could be a great addition to our forward group. His offensive and goal scoring instincts are great, and he has a shot like McCann's. I think he would fit in nicely with our forward group: Baertschi - Horvat - Boeser Tolvanen - ______ - Virtanen Gaunce - Granlund - Etem Zalewski - Cassels - Lockwood Getting either Liljegren or Foote would cement our blue line for years to come. We could trade Gudbranson for a young forward when the time is right: Juolevi - Liljegren/Foote Hutton - Tanev Tryamkin - Subban Brisebois - Stetcher

I can't say I'm terribly excited about this draft.
