The entire #Canucks management and coaching staffs were involved in recruiting Stecher.

Sources say #Canucks beat out Oilers,Habs and Flyers to land Stecher.

Oilers had great offer and had new rink, Stecher liked Habs as well and his old coach was in Philly but chose #Canucks.

Benning closing the deal! Nice.

Props to Boeser on the sell job too.

There've been anecdotal reports emanating from Utica, of overly enthused, inebriated fans drinking alcoholic beverages from a prosthetic leg, during the process of boisterously supporting their team. :^)

This persistent rumour alone, will likely net us 5~7 college FA's...

This is not rumor, that actually happened in one of Utica playoff games last season.

This is the stuff of legend. I don't recall ever seeing anyone drinking from it, but I have seen someone rip that leg off and hold it above their head and shake it like a Tusken Raider. It's a damn shame they can't fit more than 3000 fans in that arena, but they are among the most rowdy fans in North America. I doubt if that would affect anyone's decision to sign a contract, but it certainly doesn't hurt having that kind of support behind your team.

I agree with those that say Larsen has the leg up (pun intended) on Biega for a spot on the Canucks. Biega deserved a callup spot this year, but since he's an undersized D-man, he would likely clear waivers and have the C pinned on his chest in Utica. Stetcher needs some seasoning in the A before he gets the call, unless he goes full on Hutton and steals a spot. With Bennings recent comments about needing 11 D-men however, it would make no sense to have Stetcher make the team.

Great signing, even though it probably one of the easiest sell jobs Benning will ever have to make. The kid was wearing a Canucks sweater to NDU practices.

I have been to Utica and can confirm that all parks come equipped with modified picnic tables that can be used for beer pong.

AGE 22 NATION Canada
POSITION D SHOOTS R
HEIGHT 180 cm / 5'11" WEIGHT 87 kg / 192 lbs

Highly skilled two-way defenceman that displays tremendous poise with and without the puck. Soft hands that can pass as well as let rockets fly. Excellent vision and a playmaker's knack for the game. Very aware and responsible defensively, but is not comfortable having the puck in his own end for too long and will take it upon himself to get the puck out of the defensive zone. His impact upon the game occurs at both ends of the ice as an offensive and defensive force. [EP]
