Unfortunately our super stars make 7 mill AAV and others are making north of 10. Thank Gillis for that too. He handed some good contracts and some bad. Much much better at signings than JB and TL

How many players are making 10 mill? And how many cups did they win?

OK guys... here's my ideal and realistic projection:

D. Sedin H. Sedin Eriksson*

Baertschi Horvat Brouwer*

Etem Sutter Virtanen

Granlund *Gaustad Dorsett

Edler Tanev

Hutton Gudbranson

Sbisa Tryamkin

Markstrom

*Niemi

Extras: Rodin, Gaunce, Larsen

*Eriksson - give him a 3-yr deal for $6M per  (compensated by buyouts to Burrows + Higgins)

*Brouwer - offer him 4 years at $5.5M per (compensated by departures of Vrbata/Weber)

*Gaustad - we need this big, tough veteran!!! Won't cost more than $2M (offset by departures of Bartkowski/Prust)

*Trade Miller to Dallas for Niemi and pick

*Trade Hansen for pick

I think Larsen and Rodin will be given legit chances to help our PP... I see this line-up a well-balanced, competitive one with LOTS more $ to spend if upgrades needed!

Edler-Tanev

Hutton-Gudbranson

Hamhuis-Tryamkin

Pedan

Makes top two in pacific.

I agree with your line up 100% 1st round pick will be Tkatchuk or Dubois either guy will be great for future top 6 players..

yes Hansen will be traded for late 1st round and 4th round pick also..I agree with Erickson or guy from NYI..

Sedin Sedin Hansen

Granlund Sutter Rodin

Baertschi Horvat Virtanen

Etem Gaunce Dorsett

(Vey, ____) (In reality, we will probably fill that spot with a strong free agent signing like either Ladd, Okposo, or Eirksson)

Edler - Tanev

Hutton - Gudbranson

Tryamkin - Larsen

(Sbisa) (Sbisa, Tryamkin and Larsen duke it out for the 2 roster spots)

Markstrom

Miller

This is a lineup before any major trades. I saw we are probably 1 forward FA signing away from having our roster filled out. Hopefully it's a big time stuf that can play top 6 minutes. We need depth, as after this squad, we get pretty thin without much depth help.

Still with this roster some notable prospects still in the system 1 or 2 years away from bursting onto the scene.

  1. Brock Boeser
  2. Jordan Subban
  3. Troy Stecher
  4. And our 5th overall pick (Dubois or Tkatchuk)

With Thatcher Demko also signed, we have a solid foundation for the future. Subban or Stecher will soon step into the offesnive PMD role on the team, and guys like Boeser and a potential Dubois or Tkatchuk will cap off our youth movement. 1 pure scorer and 1 legitimate first line potential player. We are not in bad shape

Dubois or tkachuk won't play in the NHL this year. Likely next year or year after with AHL.

higgins bought out/hamhuis returns on a 2 year deal. Sbisa and Hansen traded. Burrows stays.

Two of lucic/boedker/eriksson/stamkos/okposo/Martin are

signed.

miller stays.

Sign David Jones for 1 year, 750K. Finds chemistry with the twins with 10 goals in 25 games before getting injured, Virtanen back in the lineup, Hansen moved to Sedin line.

Forwards (approx. $38 million)

D. Sedin ($7 million) - H. Sedin ($7 million) - L. Eriksson ($6 million)
S. Baertschi ($2.5 million) - B. Horvat ($.9 million) - J. Virtanen ($.9 million)

E. Etem ($1.5 million) - B. Sutter ($4.375 million) - J. Hansen ($2.5 million)
A. Rodin ($.95 million) - M. Granlund ($.9 million) - D. Dorsett ($2.65 million)

B. Gaunce ($.9 million)

We sign Eriksson to play with the Sedins and hope it turns out better than the Vrbata signing. We keep the kid line together to promote the message of transitioning to youth. Our bottom six is a balance of young guys and veterans, with our 5th Overall a dark horse for entering the roster (either Dubois or Tkachuk). If we pick Dubois, I am putting him in the third line LW and calling it the "PB & J" Line.

Burrows and Higgins will not be returning.

Defence (approx. $17.4 million)

A. Edler ($5 million) - C. Tanev ($4.45 million)

B. Hutton ($.9 million) - E. Gudbranson ($3.5 million)

N. Tryamkin ($.925 million) - T. Stetcher ($.925 million)

P. Larsen ($.925 million)

A. Biega ($.75 million)

Top four is essentially set already, barring any major UFA signings (Keith Yandle? ... nah?). We match pairings with left and right shooters. Stetcher over Larsen because Larsen doesn't actually have a contract yet.

Sbisa gets traded. Hamhuis will not be returning. Though if he does I will be pleasantly surprised.

Goalies (approx. $8.35 million)

R. Miller ($6 million)

J. Markstrom ($1.55 million)

No surprises here. We get as much mileage out of Ryan Miller as we can before we transition into the Markstrom Era.

Total Dollars Spent: Approx. $63.75 million

If you want no more bullying the twins, sign John Scott and put him with them.

All he has to do is stand in front of the net and they'll deflect pucks off him! :)

He also actually looked pretty good doing 3 on 3 at the All Star game. Have wondered if that's his special talent in the NHL. Can't get him off the puck if you don't have enough help out there lol

Yeah, I especially like the Luongo contract...the gift that keeps on giving.  And the numerous NTCs...that's been awesome as well!

You kidding? Luongo is an elite goalie making 5.33 AAV is a God damn steal. He proved he's still the best this year.

The bad move was listening to idiot fans and trading his best asset after sedins.

His no trade clauses were all warranted and he managed the cap impeccably well other than Ballard deal and booth trade. Both deals that people were happy with at the time.
