It's basically his career pace of +/- 35 points per 82 in a shut down role despite not being healthy. The horror!!
Zhukini
Today I learned getting bailed out by Markstrom makes you a good shutdown centre. 1 1

Hopefully after this surgery and off time he comes in next season healthy. His shoulder might get it's strength back and his face off % should go back above 50%. He did a lot of heavy, hard work for this team, 5 on 5 and on PK, allowing Bo to have a lot more O zone starts. Nobody said he was a franchise player. 2
Zhukini
I wonder how much weight the last name Sutter carries to GM’s.
combover
bonio every bit as good if not better, there was no need to make this trade. Ive never been a fan of Brandon softer. Hopefully he’s not part of this club next season. His ntc kicks in this summer. Just Another Terrible contract.

It changes to a modified ntc. He can submit a 15 team no trade list, but his full ntc is over. 1 2

Also with all the money left in cap space for the team who cares what they are paid? Sutter is 4 mil this year for 4 goals..... So that is a BOAT ANCHOR of a contract. Canucks would have to retain 50% in any kind of a trade and TBH i don't think any team would even be interested with 50% of the salary retained.... JB has given out some real stinker contracts in a sad attempt to prop up a tanking roster..... JB should have let nature take its course and we could have had possible a few first or 2nd overall picks.... 1

Or perhaps, like all of the hard minute/defensive players on the Canucks, that when tasked with the (foundational ) work of playing all the difficult assignments on a low possession, low depth, mediocre, inexperienced, rebuilding team, they tend to get injured a lot while sheltering the kids Look at the injury list. It's no coincidence it's dominated by the guys playing the most minutes, defensive assignments/zone, PK, match up etc. They're not injury prone, their roles are. Particularly on the poor, inexperienced, rebuilding team they play on. The option would be to toss them all and 'throw the kids in' as you people clamor for and then watch as all our promising kids end up out of the lineup for months on end with stilted development instead. Great plan that is. Perhaps a bit more respect and grattitude for the thankless role they're playing in protecting our important kids we hope to have leading us to a cup in a few years. 1 1

Sutter when healthy is effective defensively and can score off the rush. Good skater but not very physical. He can't pass the puck well and he makes his linemates worse offensively though. We can agree on that his body seems to be breaking down on him... He has played alot of hockey and some guys bodies give out on them earlier than others...
