Ryan Spooner: 1 year, $ 2.5 million dollar contract ( $ 2,500,000.00 per season ). Very pleased to bring Ryan back. Term was really the sticking point. Ultimately, both parties felt a one year deal would be beneficial for both sides. This now concludes the Las Vegas Golden Knights off-season signings. I feel confident that this roster can surprise enough teams throughout the league during the year and slip into a playoff spot in our inaugural season. Franson had had been slated for top 4 in Boston, but as he's currently seeking a PTO irl, it's become clear that he's not on any team's top 4 list . We were thrilled to be able to find talent like Oduya so late in the summer. Boston has capitalized on underestimated defensive defenseman before. Both Hjalmarsson and Oduya will serve a shaparones for the more offensively minded Shattenkirk and Ristolainen on the top 4, and combine for a tough PK unit to bolster the backend. We are very excited to welcome back Matt Cullen. With lots of fresh young faces in our bottom six, and the loss of Dwight King and Matt Hendricks, Matts experience and leadership will be the glue that binds it all together. Matt will spend the next year centering our 4th line, and leading/mentoring the young squad as it changes and fluctuates throughout the season. Here's an early look at how the roster could look. Schwartz - Stepan - Tarasenko Niedereitter - Draisaitl - Reinhart Dvorak - Sutter - Bjorkstrand Aston-Reese - Cullen - Boucher Desjardins Shattenkirk - Ristolainen Hjalmarsson - Oduya Miller - Marincin Franson - Clendenning Bishop Howard Forwards - We've got interesting pressure around center... we may be overestimating Aston-Reese's current ability... can't see how Boucher won't get waived/demoted in Vancouver, so that spot could be Archibald or Zykov, depending on how they produce at camp. Defense - pretty comfortable with my top 4, as I've read lots of indicators that Oduya will play with Karlsson irl, which could make him a quality value-added pickup. Franson' a wildcard, sounds like he'll have to take less to get a deal done in the league so we'll see. Clendenning sure needs to step up and take a role, but not sure it's there for him irl. Marincin seems a perennial odd ball in rl TOR. Not sure how he fits... trade/demote/scratch? Maybe Gaunce or Auvitu could make a push? We do still have a offer in for young d-man we feel could contribute right away. Goal - is Ben Bishop our goalie of the future? Could Howard challenge again, or will he even finish/start this season as a Bruin? Lots of questions, no answers at this time. ready, set, go! We're excited to get our young players signed, and competing for a spot at camp! We have at least one forward spot open. With Anderson the most likely guy to grab it? But also in the mix, Benson, Casey Bailey, Axel Holmstrom, Landon Feraro, Mitch Hults Nick Paul and Rasmus Asplund posturing for a job. Next year, we anticipate several of these guys being ready, plus Henrik Borgstromm. And we should be ready for a big push up front!
