I am so glad we didn't end up with such a low life puke on our team...he should be turfed from playing for the rest of the year for that one....!!! Not even remotely intentional. It's always easy to read motive into super slow mo. 1 1

One video I watched on the incident. a guy mentions it looks like MT is trying to slow down with his right foot but his skate bounces off the ice and kicks up. Makes sense from the angle they showed it on. But MT is still a dirty player either way.

To me it just looked like a two guys going into the boards trying to keep their balance at high speed. I don't think Tkachuk is that subtle either.......if he wanted to make a dirty play, he's shown he'll do it overtly.

Popular Post Curmudgeon
Juolevi played 6:16 in his first NHL game. He made no mistakes and was able to move the puck out of danger quickly and accurately. He seems pretty calm and deliberate, but it was a very small sample size. Even so, he did not look out of place. 3
Popular Post Diamonds
He didn't play a lot, but I thought he made some good plays and looked impressively calm in the minutes he did play. Great to see him finally get his first game after all of his setbacks! 2
Popular Post theo5789
Can erase the "never played a game" moniker now. Hopefully the start of a NHL career now. 4 2 1
Smashian Kassian
Considering the setbacks this is a bigger deal than it would be normally. Not to mention stepping into an intense 'playoff' game. At the very least he'll be able to build off this & be in the NHL mix next season.
Popular Post bbllpp
Low minutes but made smart plays and didn’t look nervous at all, bodes well for the Canucks, too many Pundits/Fans gave up on this kid 3
Phil_314
Low-event/ low danger, mid-level ceiling for a start wouldn't be bad. Rather a guy like that than a Derrick Pouliot. Given time I feel like he could easily become another big-minute safe all-around guy, hopefully ultimately in the mold of a (poor man's) Josi/ Chabot or a Heiskanen/ Slavin type smooth operator, to replace Edler's role and complement Hughes (though having a left D-man with some edge would be great given how neither Rathbone or Hughes are the biggest guys nor are any of the 3 the most physical).

We are in need of an upgrade on Fanta/Benn and maybe he can be that. 2
J-23
He had a really good shift in the second that really stood out to me. Smart dman, makes the right play. Looking forward to watching him next season. 2

I think that's part of where Green said he played a heavier game than expected. I was glad to see that too and once he gets the timing down, I think he would be knocking some guys on their bums.
Popular Post Coconuts
Trial by fire, he didn't play much but he played well in a very important game. Love it. Fully expect him to make the team as a 5-7 guy and from there it's up to him how far he goes. Edited August 8, 2020 by Coconuts 3
