The way he moved around the ice between whistles reminded me of a teenager being yelled at to go clean their room.

cyoung
Let's not over react too much yet. Juolevi is incredibly valuable to the Canucks. They are gonna have him see the best doctors they have.

The worst of it usually ties in with the schedule, the real problem though is the importance of the players to the team that seem to get injured. Not wishing any I’ll will on anyone in particular, but why Edler, Tanev, Boeser, Pettersson (hasn’t been the same since), Baertschi, Sutter - seems to pretty much always be key players. Wonder why? This team seems to need, more than any other, depth in quality. The Canucks need new specialists

As far as thinking while on the move, the last guy in a Canuck uniform I can remember like that in offensive Q was Paul Reinhart - the possible size would just be a bonus. It is the possible blending with his game and Hughes that is really intriguing to me - having two defenders at the same time, that clever, could be really something to see setting up Pettersson and Boeser. The IQ is the there, OJ is a a smart player who thinks the game. That’s where the disinterested comments come from. He is thoughtful, and reserved. I don't see OJ ever playing as physical as Hammer, more like Tanev on defence.

Not sure yet as he is only 20; once he matures, he may develop that part of his game as well. We will have a lot better idea by the time he is 24 / 25 if that is going to be a part of his game or not. I am hoping it is.

Hope your right.
Kootenay Gold
IMO it would really make him into a far more complete player over and above the skill set he already has.

Yeah, the lazy and disinterested comments remind me of one of the smartest players ever to wear a Canucks uniform: Larionov. He often looked that way and almost never seemed to be in a hurry, but he was invariably in the right place at the right time and always made the best play available to him. Hopefully OJ is lazy and disinterested in the same way Igor was.

As soon as production drops you are called lazy and disinterested (especially if you are Russian). That is the way of the NHL.

Lets hope that isn't the case. We all hope to see him back healthy and playing again, eventually with the big club. 1
tas
"______ is a good all-round defenseman that has solid hockey sense and a good skillset. He's a good passer, can be a puck mover and possess a very good shot from the point. The young blueliner has a complete game with minor weaknesses but also doesn't have a standout talent either. He has good size and solid skating but needs to play more physically down low and in front of his net. ______ projects as a possible top-four defenseman at the NHL level." anyone else think this snippet from hockeysfuture sounds like a decent description for juolevi, and any guesses as to who it might actually be?
