TSN's top 40 Free Agents - Haumhuis ranked 16th

Think the Hammer's going to do very well on Friday. More power to him!

IMHO, two players are standouts for the 'Nucks, both on LW...

Loui Eriksson - Think he'd be a natural along side the Sedins.

Andrew Ladd - If we can't score Eriksson.

Not convinced about Lucic...albeit he would certainly add toughness up front. But I can't imagine him playing on a line with the twins. And not for the money and term he's going to command.

Hoping Benning doesn't go off the rails with some ridiculous offer for Stamkos...nobody is worth the kind of dough that's being talked about!

David Backes is the best fit for the Canucks IMO. Probably the best mentor for the young kids coming onto the team. Especially guys like Horvat and Boeser.

i agree, but would he move to the wing or would sutter?....

1) Stamkos would change the team. The Sedins would move to the 2nd line. The rest of the division would certainly take notice.

2) Lucic would add extra nastiness and grit. He would instantly become a fan favourite, even by those that apparently hate him.

3) Eriksson would provide some offence and may click with the Sedins, but that top line may get bullied.

4) Martin, I want this guy. He's younger, big, and cheap.

Predicting Hammer will receive between 4-5 mill for 3-4 year term.

I suspect you're right in the ball-park there.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he got even more money and term though.

Hammer, if/when used in the right spot in the line-up, can still be a very effective D-man for many years imo.

And Ladd is going to ask for less than lucic?  Possibly but not by much I wouldn't think

Man, my two man list of wanted men was Gudbranson and Martin.

if we got Matt "flowmaster " Martin, all my wildest dreams would come true.
