canuckledraggin
This year the race for the wildcard will be as tight as it has ever been in the modern era. With all of the teams that have seemingly improved and the teams at the top that will be relatively the same, there will be a greater distribution of points this year from top to bottom. 105 points will be tops in the West and 76 will be the lowest. Canucks will finish just outside the playoffs with 84 points, but they will only be 1 win away as the team that gets the final wildcard will do it with 86 points and it will come down to a tie-breaker to decide that final team. By divine intervention the Canucks will get into the top 3 picks despite only having a 1% chance of doing so.
10pavelbure96
Willie looks like a genius putting Gaunce with Sutter and Baertschi with Granlund, shutting up all the haters. Bo improves on his defensive game and becomes one of the top 2 way players in the league under 23. And... Virtanen outscores William Nylander by seasons end, thus again, shutting up all the haters. CDC explodes.
Tajun
Canucks go 46-30-6, good for third in the Pacific. Every sports commentator that had us 30th makes up excuses like "Who knew that the Sedins would work so well with Eriksson?" and "Who is this Ben Hutton guy, he came out of nowhere!" Rolled eyes across Canuck nation cause mass headaches. We get trounced in the second round.
Team Bagues
I see 5 central division teams making the playoffs, meaning we'd need at least third to make er'''' I see LA and ANA taking steps back, SJ will lead the way, EDM and ARI will improve, and CGY seems like garbage to me but their D and goaltending is pretty good. It seems like a crap shoot between EDM, ARI, CGY, and VAN.... So I see the Canucks making the playoffs if ANA and LA continue their downward decent... otherwise it'll be golfing in April.... LaBamba
Too lazy to find original post. 2016/17 will be a year of ultimate disappointment for both sides of the fan base. 1. The Trevor Linden is God, Benning is Moses and WD is the virgin marry gang will be disappointed that we fall short of the playoffs. 2. The people who wish we would suck are going to be disappointed with the 11th OA pick in what projects to be the weakest draft in a decade. 3. Come trade deadline, we will be close enough to a playoff spot that Benning doesn't even consider touching any of his pending UFA's. Instead he gives up his 2nd and possibly more for another average RFA with a high a eye test score and low possession numbers. 4. WD will scramble and bury young players deep into the bench. He will grossly overplay the Sedin's and LE to the point of collapse. By the end of the season WD will be in shambles. Falling short of the playoffs and stalling the development of players like Guance and Tryamkin. Let the dark ages begin.

danjr
Ovechkin will be the 84th player in NHL history to crack 1000 points, Henrik Sedin will be Next. Shortly after will be Crosby for position 86 Daniel will beat Shane Doan and be the 87th Doan will get there in 88th postion of players hitting 1000 points. Quite a few players to crack 1000 all in a season. Canucks will Finish with 97 points. Miller and Markstrom will almost have identical numbers of games played and wins. Horvat will progress through the lines and become a 2a center on this team The Sedins and Eriksson will have a resurgence and post between 72 and 80 points each. Tryamkin will play about 20 games total. Others will step up and prove more balanced than him. Sutter will get hurt again and miss a 1/4 of the season. Rodin when he gets into the line up will only put up .5 ppg numbers. The remainder of the players will have good seasons but no one will have an exceptional season above what they do average through their careers. No big trades and Willie will complete the entire season as the coach. The main reason for our turn around will be the special teams will round into form and be tough to play against. Ted Lasso
One or two decent teams unexpectedly tank, and the Canucks sneak into the playoffs. Twins have a Renaissance year: Daniel - 33g 48a Henrik - 21g 60a Eriksson - 40g 30a The kids take a step forward: Baertschi - 23g 34a Horvat - 21g 30a Hutton - 13g 28a

Again) -Sedins will eclipse 1000 points each (Henrik needs at least 30, and Daniel needs at least 58) --Both will have >60 points playing with Eriksson -Eriksson will get about 70 points and play a responsible two way game -Baertschi will solidfy himself as a scoring threat and finish with ~50 points (based on his chemistry with both Bo and Granlund, which allows him to score anywhere in the lineup) -Horvat will continue his development nicely, with at least 45 points and a stronger +/- -Sutter will be healthy for most of the year, and he will be a good shutdown centre, but he will not put up many points (<35) -Dorsett will lead the league in PIMs -Hutton will not be as prolific offensively, as he focuses on being more responsible defensively -Tanev will be Tanev -Gudbranson will have a tough transition, but will become more steady after a few weeks -Larsen will not be resigned after a relatively poor year that will see him in the press box after December (spot in the top 6 taken by Tryamkin) -Miller will have a very poor season in terms of his statistics, but he will still start at least 40 games -Markstrom will have a good year, and account for most of our team wins -Burrows retires at the end of the season and takes a role in the coaching staff
87Crosby
Sedins and Erikson combine for over 200 points. Horvat has a strong start and puts up 45 points. Baertchi and Hansen are consistent throughout the season. Both have 15+ goals. Sutters presence is more as a defensive forward, he doesn't crack 50 points but he is important for a playoff chase. Virtanen earns a spot in the top nine by the end of December. Butrows retires res at the end of the season. Dorset traded at the deadline. On defense Edler has a resurgence but Hutton can't find success as easily. Stetcher called up by early December to replace Larsen. Markstrom takes the starting gig. as for the rest of the league: McDavid wins the Art Ross and Edmonton barely makes/misses the playoffs (Wildcard hunt). Toronto finishes with a mediocre record. Montreal have a strong start but falter due to their scoring woes come April. Flames miss the playoffs because of weak goaltending and defense. Ottawa finishes between 9-12 in the East. Winnipeg and Montreal make the playoffs. Winnipeg finishes with most points out of all Canadian teams. LA misses the postseason. Sharks Canucks Oilers and Ducks finish top 4 in the pacific. Canucks and oilers fighting for the Wildcard. Hineslty my only prediction is that either the Canucks finish bottom 3, or they make the playoffs and win at least 1 round. If by December they're out of it and the teams not looking so good they'll tear it down and rebuild. Willie Fired before Christmas and all that.
