Even if he were to play another 10 years for Nashville, I would still think him in a Preds jersey is hella weird. Nasvhille are going to win the cup sometime in the next 10 years. Forsberg, Johansen, Neal, Subban, Wilson, Josi, Rinne's got a few more years left in him. Those are some big names. And they've acquired the first 4 via trades. Gotta flashback to the Nords/Lanche of the 90's. All that top young talent they turned into other talented pieces. Of course the Lindros deal was their clincher. Wound up with 2 Cups. Have these Preds chosen a similar route?

Duncan Keith—Shea Weber Marc-Edouard Vlasic—Drew Doughty Jay Bouwmeester—Alex Pietrangelo Dan Hamhuis Notable absence of PK Subban. Gotta wonder why. Clearly not only the Habs don't consider him the best in the game. I like Subban and Weber but i think Weber is a great fit in Montreal. He will bring a calming influence on the d-line as well as a perfect mentor to Sergachev. Price knows him pretty good as gold as well.

You'd think Weber were chopped liver if you listened to the majority of noise around this trade. Price is probably the happiest Hab, knowing he's going to have that mean presence in front of him. The Habs still have that right handed cannon on the point of their powerplay. There seems to be a fashionable devaluation of virtually all aspects of defending aside from carrying the puck - but I'm not in the chorus that thinks Nashville rekt Montreal in this deal. Yeah Weber with Shaw also makes the Habs a whole lot grittier and tougher to play against as well.

Agreed, Nashville has Josi, why did they need Subban? Weber is better for both teams. Montreal completely robbed Nashville. Weber, top pairing in the Olympics. Subban, almost didn't make the team. So yeah, maybe PK should stop limiting himself and develop a more complete game like the guy he was traded for - who, ironically, has been so under-rated across the board following this trade. Obviously team Canada's management just don't understand the analyticzzzz. Weber on the top pairing with Vlasic? What was that dumbass Canadian coaching/management staff thinking? Anyone who calls Shea Weber a stay at home defensemen is pretty out of touch with reality. I would say he is easily the best all round defensemen of our generation. He scores, he hurts people, and he plays at an elite level on either side of the ice.
