      Forum-specific Rules   07/11/2017

These are board specific rules for the Trades and Rumors forum designed to provide organization and a better experience for everyone. Please review these rules before posting new threads.
THREAD ETIQUETTE   1. Please search for an existing thread before posting. This forum can be very fast moving, so it's understandable if redundant threads are inadvertently posted. In such a case, please use the report feature to request removal of redundant threads.    2. Provide a clearly identifiable topic title so that users can readily understand the content. The title should include any and all teams involved, as well as player names or other personnel involved as appropriate.   3. All trades, signings, rumors and other news MUST include a linkable source. Simply posting the name of the source is not enough. Effort should also be made to copy and paste the full article, or at the very least the relevant portion of text from the source to the first post of the thread. Moderators may remove low-quality threads in favour of high-quality threads.

Affixed to the front of your title should be a label that identifies the type of transaction that is taking place. For all trades use [TRADE]. For all signings use [SIGNING]. For all waiver-wire transactions use [WAIVERS]. For all rumours use [RUMOUR].
For articles or news items that don't fit into the above categories, affix an appropriate label of your choice such as [NEWS], [ARTICLE] or [MISC].   4. When the status of a thread changes a new thread can be created. The new thread should reflect the change and help focus the discussion on current events. e.g. Someone may create a new thread when a rumor becomes a trades. The old thread will be locked by the moderating team.    5. Do not misrepresent the contents of your thread or post false trades or rumors. Trolling will result in a permanent suspension.

SOURCES   The following source types are considered INVALID. Any links to posts or threads on other message boards Any links to personal blogs Any news heard on the radio that does not have a link to an audio vault or podcast Any news seen on television that does not have a link to online video Any news spread by word of mouth
Additionally, certain sources may be be blacklisted due to poor credentials, clear traffic-mongering etc. Blacklisted sources will be posted here.
Thank you for your co-operation and please PM the Administrator or Moderators if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions regarding this forum.

[Report] Canucks reported to be looking for a big scoring winger

Still think Nick foligno is the darkhorse in all of this talk...

He is their Captain, not sure what is relationship is with Torts however. Foligno had the 1 breakout year but last year he fell of substantially. His 5.5m cap hit and a NMC is a pretty big gamble to take on if he stays around a 35-40pt guy throughout his contract.

I would be open to acquiring him, but at what cost? We would need to send equal cap back also.

Benning is looking for a power forward because he drafted a 1D. Had he drafted a power forward, he would be looking for a 1D.

Guess what you would be complaining about?

Right. actually I wouldn't be complaining because we have Trymakin, JB has been seeking out a power forward for months, hence the trade talks before trade deadline revolving around Lucic. It is really funny that you would even consider to think that you might know what I might be thinking, wow!

Tryamkin was impressive in the few games he played last season, but nobody can honestly pretend he's a number 1.

We already have power forwards in Virtanen, Etem, and Gaunce. We just need to be patient and develop them.

I think I said that already, Oli isn't a number 1 yet either, in fact he hasn't even played a preseason game yet but everyone is giving him a roster spot. Tryamkin has all the tools, not to mention he is massive, he just needs more time to. We haven't even seen Oli skate with the big boys in a game situation yet.

The same can be said for Tkachuk. No guarantees had we drafted either.

Either way Juolevi brings a much different skill set than Tryamkin. One this team desperately needs.

Yes he does, however it is unlikely that he will make the team, Tryamkin has already played and looks ready to do some damage. There is no guarantee with any draft pick. Only time will tell, only the hard work and determination of the player can produce what everyone hopes and anticipates they are capable of, I do believe that is called potential, all draft picks have potential, some more than others, hence player development programs. Trymakin, by all accounts, is further along in development as far as play time in the NHL is concerned, Oli has none (no NHL play time), as I have said in previous posts, I really do hope that Oli is every bit as good as people are saying, the team really needs this type of defence man.

Very few people are penciling Juolevi on to next year's team.

You seem to be the one confusing recently drafted kids with current NHL players who are able to fill current roster holes.

ummmmm, no I think that person might be you, I have no illusions that Oli will make the team, which is exactly what most people are doing, because he is just that "good". Twist and contort things all you want, I have been saying the same thing post after post, you are the one constantly changing, again as I have said multiple times, I hope that Oli proves that he was worth being picked at No.5, that would be awesome. As for filling a roster spot, I think I pretty much stated what is so obvious. So making comments like you did says nothing of any consequence to me, have a nice night:)

Passive aggressive, nice. The quote you have "Science is like an inoculation against charlatans who would have you believe what ever it is they tell you." is this something that you believe and live by? If it is, that explains a lot.

If a reasonable trade cannot be made, I'm happy with the roster we have and letting Burrows/Rodin compete for 2LW.

As much as I like Burrows he's not a 2nd line player plain and simple.

I personally was hoping that we could acquire a 2nd 1st round pick just to snag him, He's gonna be a beauty in the league.

Oli needs to go back to Jr then next year apprentice in the AHL.There is no urgency to put this kid in pressure cooker under WD right now some big holes were already filled on D before the draft .This kid needs to season properly as a Defenseman the development timelines are slightly longer than forwards.i would be really really disappointed if Oli starts year on Canucks team, in fact I would become anti JB camper an right now I happen to like what JB is doing here .

Yeah next year's going to be the problem. Entirely possible he's above playing in Jr. but not quite ready for the NHL (and ineligible for the AHL). THAT season I would be more interested in seeing him loaned to a Euro team/league.

So you have issues with passive aggressive, but full-on aggressive is acceptable?

This board has long been a contentious place where people have differences of opinion, etc...and for the most part it's part of the fun.

Most guys that stick around find a groove where they feel ok having their opinion (even a contrary opinion), but can have that opinion challenged without feeling like it's a personal attack (or feeling the need to respond with personal attacks).

Nobody said he doesn't look like a promising player.
