Adarsh Sant
The past few years, the Canucks have been getting pushed around by the Bay Area teams. They haven't been able to keep up in speed or size or goaltending or scoring or defense. With the additions of Gudbranson and Eriksson, the return of Sutter, and the help of Virtanen's size, do you think the Canucks will be able to keep up this year? Or are we in for another year of 0-3 road trips against the California teams. Thoughts?
Maniwaki Canuck
Yes, and Tryamkin is another reason why. They were already much better with them last year actually. I'm thinking they'll be around .500 with them.
Mathew Barzal
Not really worried about the Ducks or Kings. Both those teams got worse. San Jose is the only one I'd be weary of.

Cramarossa
Canucks are I believe 6-0 in their last 6 in SJ…they swept the Cali teams to (finally) build a three-game win streak towards the end of the season…I'm not too worried about the road trips. I am a little worried to see how they'll battle back at home. I'm the most worried about SJ; ANA and LAK are starting their declines. 17 minutes ago, naslund.is.king said: CALIFORNIA LOVE ...DUN DUN DUN DUN. Fanuck
This may be the first year in quite some time that the Cali teams think twice about coming up to Western Canada expecting 6pts.
Nex is my ex
We've been getting gradually better against the Cali teams over the past 3 years so I'd say yes we will be able to handle them.
appleboy
Will they be able to deal with us? We need to be a leader not a follower. We have enough size in the right spots. I am happy with as much speed up front as possible.
wai_lai416
not sure why some of you think we'll do better against the cali team than before.. LA other than losing Lucic not much changed.. and they were pushing us around well before Lucic.. Anaheim lost Andersen, but it's not like Gibson is a downgrade.. other than they got a year older.. so pray their core all of a sudden on a mass decline and suck don't see any change.. SJ? their new core look as strong as ever.. with the addition of Gudbranson the other team might crash the net a little less... don't see how it stop the big speedy teams from pushing us around.. Virtanen? we had virtanen last year.. didn't make any difference.. and for all we know he'll likely start in the AHL due to roster spot anyways unless he massively out plays other for the spot. Overall our defense got a little bigger.. but the forwards are pretty much the same..

Except you didn't list all of the games. Canucks played 15 games against those three teams, not just the 10 you listed, and had a 7-7-1 record over those 15. While I agree that it's not a terrible record, .500 hockey isn't something to brag about.

And we still picked up 16 out of 30 possible points. So it's not like they've got our number and we can't beat them, which is what this thread hints at.
