Bur14Kes17
http://sprtsnt.ca/2cvlBzk It appears Jacob Trouba‘s time with the Winnipeg Jets will soon come to an end. The 22-year-old defenceman, who was picked ninth overall in the 2012 NHL Draft, has requested a trade from the Jets and will not attend training camp. He is currently a restricted free agent. On Saturday, Trouba’s agent Kurt Overhardt released a statement to the media, a copy of which was obtained by Sportsnet: “Our client, Jacob Trouba, will not be attending the Winnipeg Jets NHL training camp. Since May, we have been working with the Jets management in an effort to facilitate a trade of Jacob’s rights. Both parties continue to work on this matter. There has been no negotiation regarding the terms of a contract between our client and the Jets over the course of the last several months. The situation is not about money; it is solely about our client having the opportunity to realize his potential as a right shot NHL defenseman. To the Jets credit, the club has two outstanding right shot veteran defensemen and our client simply wants the opportunity to have a greater role. As a consequence of the Jets depth on the right side, we believe it is in both parties’ best interest to facilitate a mutually advantageous trade. Our client has nothing but respect for the people and City of Winnipeg, the Winnipeg Jets, its fans, management and ownership - our desire to get him moved has everything to do with opportunity. We will continue to work with the Jets in good faith to achieve this end." Right shot D man. Wonder if the Jets would do a straight up Tanev for Trouba trade considering they dealing from a position of weakness
coastal.view
really doubt that wouldn't they prefer a left sided d or other position player to avoid a repeat of this issue??

coastal.view
i think letting hamhuis go makes the experience of edler vital to the nucks d growth for the next year anyway and we certainly do not need another right d man anyway who would you force to switch sides? we just solved this problem this past offseason why create an imbalance again
Nuxfanabroad
Wonder if Edm/Winn might consider something based around Trouba for RNH? Heard Winn wanted a C.
