Me too. I don't understand why he hasn't gotten longer looks.

Because it's plainly obvious to most (including apparently coaching/amagement) that he's not ready yet. That's why.

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. We have a solid developmental team in Utica for a reason. Hint: It's to develop players who are not NHL ready.

I honestly believe Jordan Subban's time with the Nucks is coming to a close...I expect this is how the Canucks viewed Hunter Shinkaruk last year too...just not their kind of player...

sadly enough Subban is exactly what we need...but the management's preconceived notions about small players and even just prejudice to purely offensive players is being axed here.

what the canucks need is a power play specialist that's too much of a liability to play at even strength? you a big fan of yannick weber by any chance?

I remember going to a preseason game where Subban scored. It was a nice blast from the point. He was cut the next day.

I didn't expect him to make the Canucks, but I also don't think he's getting a fair shake.

Ah yes, because after one pro season and one preseason game in the big league means his time is done here.

Please...

Subban could lead the AHL in scoring and not get a chance. Didn't he score a goal in his one pre-season game last year while playing a very solid all around game only to get sent down right way.

He didn't pay in the pre-season last year. He scored a goal in the Young-stars tournament though...

His offensive ability is not the reason he was cut...

So you're telling me that he played better last year in pre-season than this year? It was stated several times during the scrimmages that he was being caught out of position. Not sure that happened last night or not.

It's not all some stupid conspiracy against Subban by Jim Benning.

I feel like the entire league knows something about the Subban brothers that we in the hockey watching public do not.

I am resisting the temptation of trying to be funny. Lol.  That would get me in big ka-ka.  I wish we had a comedy canucks forums where anything could be said.

I'm not surprised about Subban getting cut.  He's only 21, and still has a couple of years to put it together.  Most defensemen enter the league at 21 or 22, but Jordan has to additionally try to find ways to overcome his lack of size, as well as work on his defense.  I'm still confident he has the skills that will see him in the NHL one day.

It just seems like they aren't putting too much into him at the moment. I could be wrong, but wasn't he one of the first cuts (maybe before playing a preseason game) last season as well?

last season he was cut early because the Comets went overseas for preseason didnt they?
