The New York Rangers have signed Patrik Laine to a 3 year ELC worth 3.75M per year. The Montreal Canadiens have signed Denis Malgin to a 3 year ELC worth 690K per year. I believe 2/4 of those Oilers will be just fine producing points (McDavid, Lucic). Caggiula has been one of the better Oilers in the preseason and he has earned a 3C role, and could easily slide up their lineup as he can play wing as well - I was ecstatic when I was able to pry him out with Hagelin in return for Zuccarello (whom I had to move since I had too many top six wingers). I knew Caggiula had a great chance of making the Oilers, and he made me look like a genius. I knew I'd have to try and get him before the preseason because I think the odds of me acquiring him now would've been a lot lower. Benning was a shot in the dark, honestly. Oilers fans have said he's been one of the best defensemen all preseason long for them - it's not likely he lasts in EDM all year to start the season, but he will be one of the first callups.
