I love the new logo.   I already go to Vegas twice a year, I will be making alot more trips in the future.

I don't see how people think this franchise will fail.   Vegas will have a constant flow of people going to that arena.  I haven't been this excited in a LONG time.  I'm stoked.  I'm already planning on going to the 1st ever game in Vegas next October

I agree.

Just imagine leaving BC on a nasty day, 2 hours later rolling into Vegas. Drinking at the pool/casino all day, getting a nice dinner, WALKING to the rink and killing a few beers in hand on the way, going to the game and betting on hockey.

AWESOME.

A franchise has to be able to survive more than just the initial hype. And I don't think it can only survive on visitor ticket sales.

If they market it right I'm sure it can be a viable franchise. However we've seen NHL teams mismanaged and left for dead before.

From everything I've heard from Bettman though it sounds like he'll do everything to make sure this team succeeds, even if it's at the expense of other franchises.

How was it a failure?  Because all other 30 teams have the greatest names, logos, and colors in the world?

Get over yourself.  People like you are just looking for the dumbest reasons such as a name, colors, logo etc. to bash it and hoping it becomes a failure.  When in reality, you people even thought there was no chance in hell Las Vegas would even get a hockey team.  Pretty clear to me, who the real failures are...

I literally explained how it was a failure. It's not my fault you can't accept the reality of it. There's a good reason that city hasn't had major sports teams ( USFL, XFL and CFL teams don't really count).

You did get one thing right: I want this to fail. Horribly. I want Gary Bettman to crash with it too.

I think they people who live in Vegas are screaming to call something their team. Add that plus corporate seats.

I figure they will get 2000 plus Canadians every night looking to party. Like I said not being from Vancouver I'll never watch a live game in Vancouver again.

I'll go to 5-10 a year in Vegas.

Once the Raiders move to Las Vegas, no one will go to these games.

They will lose a lot of games, especially if they end up with Marc-Andre Fleury in goal like Craig Button seems to think will happen.

I read somewhere that they may pick Varlamov.

I used to go once a year but I need to renew my passport, might be cheaper going to a game there than here.

I honestly don't think this franchise will last very long on its own funds and the novelty will wear off in a couple years, casual fans doesn't keep teams afloat- just ask any professional or semi-pro team that has been in LV.

Fair enough.

I would say you're not the typical fan though. Most fans would wanna plan seeing a game that their home team is playing. That means once a year for Eastern Canadian teams, and 3 times for Western Canadian teams.

Somehow I doubt most people from Canada visiting Vegas are gonna wanna watch a Coyotes-Knights game or a Kings-Knights game just for the hell of it.

If they can tap into the California markets and get their fans to travel there and fill their arena they might have something. I'm not sure how long the allure of traveling to Vegas just to watch a game will last though.

I just got a woody reading that.

See you in Vegas next year bud.  I will be walking to the arena from the Mirage in flip flops, with my Canucks jersey on, with a nice frosty beer in my hand.

Now here's my question:

Will the Golden Knights take golden showers together after the game?  :bigblush:

For anybody who doesn't get that joke, type "golden shower" on your favourite porn site's search bar.  Fair warning though, you will never be able to unsee what comes up.

*edit*

@luckylagerjust told me that @BananaMash beat me to the joke. :(

It's okay, I stole the joke too.

Somehow I doubt that. You can't copyright a name, can you?

But AHL level name and logo. Hopefully their locker rooms have improved from the photos we saw a while back or there's not much going for them.

It's under trademark law that names can be registered and held. Copyright in itself covers the expression of ideas.

..this was quite the topic at the time. Surprised more people didn't hear about it on sports radio talk or shows.

Trademark makes more sense than a copyright, but even then. I can see trademarking the logo, but the name? Copyright definitely doesn't fit though, apart from a style of advertising, like in a campaign or something.

Yup, that's my point.
