So the tournament being a month away, quite surprised no one else has started a thread or talked about this classic tournament.

In some recent news, both Barzal and D.Strome have been assigned back to Junior, which will be a big boost Team Canada.

Discuss away...

Apparently William Lockwood has an outside chance of making the USA team in a 4th line role.

Would be amazing if he could make it.

My predictions this year.

1. USA

2. Finland

3. Canada

Ok, educate me. Why do you think this may be the final results?

Strome is not a big boost for team Canada. He was terrible last year, even worse than JV. A lazy player

You're going to dread watching team Canada this year then...pretty much a guarantee he will be the 1C.

I've been out of the loop, who do the Canucks have in this tournament?  Juolevi, Boeser, ...

As far as I know Juolevi and Boeser are locks for their respective Countries.

Zhukenov for Russia?

Lockwood for USA?

Maybe Olsen gets a camp invite for Canada?

That's pretty much it.

Maybe Olson can make a solid audition for team Canada that might make them make some tough decisions. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he does. He's been solid for PG. Most likely they'll go with Brisebois though. He's a clear cut #1 defenceman for them this year. Boeser and Juolevi are locks. Gaudette, Lockwood might have to claw their way into the USA roster as they're pretty stacked but still have a good chance of making it.

USA is bigger, stronger and more skilled. The projected roster is unreal.

Finland has the best defense in the tournament.

Canada has the best goaltending in the tournament.

That just shows how little you know. He was Canada's best player last time around even if you think he struggled.

Aside from McDavid and maybe Marner, there's no WJC eligible player that could help Canada more than Strome.

FAR from Canada's best player.

Barzal, Marner, Beauvillier, Konecny, and Stephens were all far better than him. And that is just at forward,

Stupid offensive zone turnovers, lazy backchecking, and horrible defensively.

No Thank you

He led the team in points playing against the toughest competition.

But the bigger issue with your post is that you think he won't be big boost. A 3rd overall pick in his draft+2 year who dominates at the junior level? Yeah, Canada totally wouldn't want that...

I mean jake was a 6th overall pick in his draft +2 year and we know how that turned out
