Bur14Kes17
just because I wasn't watching the background characters in a short YouTube film doesn't mean I'm oblivious to the warning signs someone with a tendency towards any kind of violence displays. I'm long graduated now but you think I didn't notice which kids in my school carried had a short fuse, didn't want to interact with other people, carried a set of brass knuckles, or we're into violent porn or whatever else? I dunno maybe I'm more observant of human behaviour then most, but if anyone I knew posted a picture with a gun that said see you at school I think I'd be calling
DIBdaQUIB
We are surrounded by danger and seldom see it until too late. Good video but spending your life trying to watch for all that stuff will make you paranoid. Taken individually, the things the shooter was doing would never raise suspicion as they happen all the time and virtually never lead to a shooting situation. 1) Reading a gun magazine - tens of millions do that. I mean, the library stocks those magazines so obviously they are there to be looked at. 2) Flips the bird to someone wanting to sit nearby - meh 3) Watching a firearm video - again tens of millions of sport shooters watch those things 4) Makes the shooting motion- sort of like Guddy saying Martin is dead or athletes making the throat slashing gesture 5) Getting bullied - most would see the bully as more of a threat than the one being bullied 4) Facebook post - that one is perhaps the warning bell but again without all the other behaviours, it is hard to make the jump to the guy planning a shooting. I like the message from the video but unless you have people actually investigating and watching full time, it is exceptionally hard to pick this stuff up. arowind
Comments clearly dont understand the point of the video. These aren't the signs of every violent gun incident but being aware of your surrounding and the people who may be suffering around you is important. Just because chances are you will never be the one to notice and stop a violent gun incident doesn't mean you shouldn't still try to be more aware of the people hurting around you. Slegr
Unsettling for sure. But while we were watching the footage of Evan and missing the signs of the gunman, Trump was off provoking war with China, causing China to unleash mass destruction on the US, killing the gunman and all students at that school in the process. I thought it would've been cool if he was writing to himself all along because he suffers from multiple personality disorder. Nevertheless, it's nicely done. Very clever. The only background gun thing I noticed was the YouTube video. I thought that stood out. On the subject, the makers of this film should've included is the use of antidepressant. A large number of school shooters either had been or were on anti-depressant when they committed their atrocities. The conventional argument has been that these kids were depressed, therefore they were on Prozac. And it is the 'disease' that causes them to commit violence. But a newer school of thought is that it is actually the anti-depressants that are causing kids to lose empathy and remorse, and do crazy things.
