Steve Downie speaks out about NHL and Arizona's terrible management

I guess he no longer plays.  Is he on drugs or something?

Looks like he isn't a fan of Tippet or the Coyote's lol.

Is anyone surprised that it was Colin Campbell with the off side comments to John Scott? He has a lot of sour grapes here but his assessment of how the NHL handles the John Scott situation appears to be spot on........

No. He's a UFA.

Sounds like Downie had a bit too much to drink and decided to vent.

Alcohol and social media don't mix.

Especially if you are in the public eye.

Pretty sure in the Scott thread I made a post that it was probably Campbell that said it. The sad part it is wasn't even a bold prediction. Just read some of Campbell's emails, you get a sense of what a douche he really is.

Should have clarified but thought it was self explanatory. Downie is a rat, he was a rat in his junior career and he was a rat during his NHL career. He destroyed McCammond in a preseason game. He was a vengeful POS who regularly stepped over the line. &^@# Steve Downie, don't even care that he feels bad about it. He had multiple chances in his career to get his $&!# together, now that his career is over he seems to have grown a conscience.

Glad he spoke out.

How many pugilists have passed on, partly attributable to how this league is run by neandrathals & deck-rigging lackeys?

Glad he mentioned media-culpability, as well.

The funniest part of this is that Steve Downie actually thinks of himself as an authority on who in hockey has class...

If it is true, as a player, I would never want to play in Arizona.

Let this be a lesson kids. Don't drink and tweet!

Pretty sure Downie just officially retired from the nhl... he just doesn't know it yet.

As much as some of the stuff he mentioned was true...Steve Downie is the definition of punch drunk.

No way man.

Drunk posting, especially from those in the lime-light, are the sweetest & purest form of hilarity.

I'd die to read some drunk posts from Obama.

And that's how you ensure to never be employed, in any capacity, in the sport again.

Punch drunk, exactly.

Funny and revealing, but also sad.

I'm sure his outburst at least circles the truth of these situations, so good on him for bringing them to light publicly, but steve downie is and always has been a goof.

there's a reason he bounced around 9 organizations in 13 years going back to junior, and that doesn't include the ahl.
