If those are the numbers, he likely took less than he may have gotten in Europe when you consider the "perks". He really wants to be in the NHL so perhaps this off-season will see a better commitment to fitness as that is one thing holding him back. He has a shot that is world class and great offensive instincts but he only can do those things in the first 20 seconds of a shift at NHL level.
SingleThorn
His AHL salary is $300k, but there's a guaranteed $400k minimum.

-AJ-
Saw this guy blast home a one-timer in Utica in their pre-season opener. He's got an NHL quality shot, but unfortunately, that's about all that's NHL quality about him.

zimmy
It’s too bad it isn’t 1973 and he could go sign with the LA Sharks or Chicago Cougers or New York Golden Blades for that matter. He’d fill it up! He has the look of a guy who is all star WHA caliber but just couldn’t get it done at the highest level.
-AJ-
Can we talk about Boucher? Sets a Utica record with 25 goals last year and is currently leading the entire AHL with 8 goals in just 5 games. He's amazing for Utica.

I don't think Boucher will ever become an NHL regular, but he's looking like one of the next AHL superstars. A goal-scoring Jason Krog, if you will. zimmy
If this was 1972 he’d be signing a lucrative WHA contract with the Los Angeles Sharks or Chicago Cougars.

I've supported him more than most on CDC. His shot is elite. I could see him getting called up if Boeser got injured. But I could also see a scenario where he doesn't get a sniff. I don't think TG likes him too much. He barely played in the prseason and it's not like he played bad. But there really wasn't a spot for him to start the year. I think he'd actually make a better version of what Sam Gagner was supposed to be for us - 4th liner PP specialist. Plus he comes at league min. So I hope he gets another chance. Like I've said before, his shot is 100% NHL level. Unfortunately for him, the rest of his game is below the NHL level, so that keeps him out of the NHL for now. He'd have to work on the rest of his game to make it to the bigs full-time.

Has it been that glaringly obvious though? What separates a guy like Boucher from a guy like Goldobin? Neither are known for their defense. Boucher has an absolute gift for a shot though. Having a guy like that on your PP is huge. We've all seen how good EP's shot is. Imagine having a shot similar to that on our 2nd PP unit! Hell, paste the guy to the bench and only play him on the PP. He's a 20+ goal scorer. Maybe more?
DownUndaCanuck
With all the injuries to our top scoring forwards, why not give Boucher another chance? He's still leading the AHL in goals with 9 in 8 and up there in points as well. Green knows him well I'm sure and mustn't be happy with some of his defensive play but we have enough plugs on this team right now and certainly need a good shot with Pettersson and Boeser out. While they might be back in for the next Pittsburgh game, I'd hope Boucher gets a decent shot in the NHL again because that would be a waste to leave the AHL's leading goal scorer buried under a bunch of 3rd line grinders. Cover up his defensive gaffs by slotting him on a line with a good defensive forward.

And the Comets have scored a grand total of one goal in the two games since. 1
SingleThorn
To repeat from last June On 6/19/2018 at 6:42 AM, SingleThorn said: If I remember correctly, Boucher had 3 stints with the NHL last season. His 1st and 3rd visits were same old RB. The 2nd stint, he was great. Looked better than Goldobin. Can't imagine anything more than one year. Make or break time for a 'high ceiling, low floor' player ! Boucher can look good, but for some reason that is often not the case. He has a NHL release for his shot. Just to jog CDCers memories, his last stint with the club last year brought out our whipping squad who ( somewhat correctly ) complained bitterly that Gaudette went pointless only because RB was unable to finish several prime set ups by AG. His third stint with the club was very disappointing, especially as the second stint had been so positive ! To quote Joey Tribbiani, 'it's a moo point', as he is injured.
