Benning better sign Tryamkin longterm FAST

Anyone who watched the game vs. the Preds tonight has to be a believer now.

Monster hits, intimidating all over the ice...  making offensive forays, great passes, and generally dominating.

Tryamkin followed up what was a horrible game with one which was Top 2 pairing good.

The potential for this guy is the ceiling...there is no doubt he will play in the NHL for a long time.

And Benning better respect his abilities and sign him quickly, because if he doesn't then Tryamkin... who has already shown his independent frame of mind, will look elsewhere.

This guy is a blue chipper... and can be a huge part of the Canucks at a bargain price if Benning signs him up now.

What's the rush? He'll be an RFA and will have no leverage. It won't cost much to get him on even a 3-4 year deal maybe $3M AAV could be a little more but not by much.

I would be happy with this. Not sure Tryamkin would though. We'll probably see something similar to Hutton's extension. Maybe even a little less. 2 years at $2.5 per sounds about right.

If Benning waits for Tryamkin's contract to expire, and tries to sign him as a RFA, every team in the league will put in a bid on him.

The other GM's know exactly what the Canucks have in this guy... 6' 7" defensemen who can scate don't fall off TREES.

That will drive the price up.

Better to sign him now before the season ends... lock him up for 4 years at a decent price.

No one does offer sheets anymore. Why do your threads always include hyperbole? You could have just commended him on his play and praised his potential and left it at that. Tryamkin will be paid as much as comparable players in his situation were paid. Please just get off the ledge.

His leverage is that he can always go back to Russia if he feels slighted by the Canucks.  He and his agent both know this.

So much hyperbole and overhyping in this thread...

Yes, he played well today and he should get signed. However, his season hasn't been good enough to turn all other 29 teams' heads. He's also an RFA.

He'll get signed medium term for a fair amount... + the regular over/under 250k-1mill Benning overpayment.

Benning better draft this guy.

Benning better get this guy to come over from the KHL.

Benning better re-sign this guy...

Tryamkin is an RFA -  and regardless, why would he be 'looking elsewhere'?

I doubt they come to 'long' terms.  He's 22.  It'll probably be a bridge contract after which he remains an RFA - and after that comes the long term deal.

Tryamkin hasn't even scratched the surface yet. With proper coaching and development by the time he hits his UFA year he will be a top pairing D.

He pretty much has it all, size, good speed, thunderous hitting, long reach that he uses well, hard accurate shot, good break out pass, plays solid in his own end and is a strong presence in front of his own net.  The only thing he needs to learn is to fight properly and he will be the entire package.

Juolevi  Tryamkin could form one of the better top pairings in the league in the next 3-4 years. They will become our two best defencemen. Props to JB for drafting both of them and creating a future top pairing for the next decade, which is the hardest thing to do when you are building a team.
