Justdean10 Posted January 19, 2017 Share Posted January 19, 2017 not sure how many people have heard this story but in 2006 in Torino during the Olympics, one of the Canadian Skiers broke her ski pole and one of the Norwegian coaches gave her one of his. Canada ended up getting a silver medal and Norway got 4th. Had the Norwegian coach not helped, Norway may have got the Bronze instead. But that's not the end of the story, after Canadians had heard of this, people got together and donated cans of maple syrup. They ended up sending the Norwegian coach 5 tons of maple syrup.
