-Vintage Canuck-
Quote SAINT PAUL -- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has traded forward Teemu Pulkkinen to the Arizona Coyotes for future considerations. Pulkkinen, 25 (1/2/92), recorded one goal in nine games with Minnesota and 36 points (18-18=36) in 47 games with Iowa this season. The Wild claimed Pulkkinen off of waivers from the Detroit Red Wings on Oct. 11. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound native of Vantaa, Finland, owns 21 points (12-9=21) in 79 career NHL contests with Detroit and Minnesota. https://www.nhl.com/wild/news/wild-trades-pulkkinen-022717/c-287179932
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Why didn't the Yotes just claim him? I guess Minnesota wants an extra roster spot and potentially making room for another move?

If they claimed him off waivers they would have HAD to keep him on the NHL roster.

Beary Sweet
one of those trades where a team had no need for the player so they'd take anything as a return for the kid

This is from the Star Tribune: Ryan Carter and Teemu Pulkkinen cleared, and the Wild will look to trade Pulkkinen before Wednesday's 2 p.m. deadline.
