[Trade] Canucks trade Alex Burrows to Senators for Jonathan Dahlen

Recommended Posts

This is basically a 1st round pick for Burr.

Yeah Dahlen went 42nd overall last year but if he were playing in the CHL instead of Sweden he would have likely been a late 1st pick.

With him putting up 2 good years in the Swedish2 league now (and leading it this year) he would probably be a mid 1st Round pick if in the draft this year.

Add to this, that Columbus is sending us their 2nd for Torts compensation, and we've already scored a 1st round player who's going to be (at least) on the farm next year + a 2nd pick that we didn't have.
and all we had to give up was a guy that wasn't going to be here next year anyway.

This is a big big win by itself. Hoping more to come !

long overdue?  The roster has been completely overturned in less than 3 years.

Process should have started faster with more players going out instead of only 1 vet a year.

Tear it down like the Leafs did. Dump Miller for anything and tank for Patrick/Hischier.

Trade Hansen as soon as possible dont wait.

Canucks have  enough vets to lead Sedins,Dorsett,Sutter,Tanev,Edler,Ericsson more than enough.

Picks or prospects, we need forwards, not Dmen.

I would suspect we're going heavy on forwards in this years draft.

We're decent in the D department now, but you can never have too much depth there. Especially if they do decide to trade Edler and Hutton going forward.

Why is Hutton in the trade talks here?

Benning works on his schedule, not yours. Relax.

Send him to the Bo Horvat School For Kids Who Can't Skate Good and Want To Do Other Hockey Good Too

He skates much better than Horvat did before he went to said school. So I'm saying theres a chance. 5goals in 7 games at the WJC sounds like just what the doctor ordered. Dahlen would be nicely nestled in our top 4 prospects  Boeser Demko Juolevi Dahlen Virtanen Gaudette the future isn't looking so bad. Dahlen is way way more than I ever would have expected in return for Burr. I would have taken Lazar as ED bait/insurance.

Easy Chips, Toronto has had a 20 year head start on us. Can't compare a team that hasn't gotten to the Cup Finals to one that has been there 3 times in the same amount of time. Yet 5 years ago... Patience....
