Yeah Dahlen went 42nd overall last year but if he were playing in the CHL instead of Sweden he would have likely been a late 1st pick. With him putting up 2 good years in the Swedish2 league now (and leading it this year) he would probably be a mid 1st Round pick if in the draft this year. Add to this, that Columbus is sending us their 2nd for Torts compensation, and we've already scored a 1st round player who's going to be (at least) on the farm next year + a 2nd pick that we didn't have. and all we had to give up was a guy that wasn't going to be here next year anyway. So I'm saying theres a chance. 5goals in 7 games at the WJC sounds like just what the doctor ordered. Dahlen would be nicely nestled in our top 4 prospects Boeser Demko Juolevi Dahlen Virtanen Gaudette the future isn't looking so bad. Can't compare a team that hasn't gotten to the Cup Finals to one that has been there 3 times in the same amount of time. Yet 5 years ago... Patience....
