RogersTowell
It's ironic how Imac's statements describe exactly the behaviour of the OP and many others on CDC. Mad when we win because it stalls the tank, mad when we lose because the players we have aren't good enough. Mad that Biega played when Goldobin is sick. So much hatred, so much hypocrisy. Very valid point when somebody says "don't believe anything so and so says". Then follows it up with a steaming pile of turd for an article. How is one supposed to take that person seriously? This wasn't a question about access to team and being aware of what was going on in the locker room. The article was written primarily in response to Iain's assertion that " they’re outraged and hyper-critical when the team loses ". This is a massive oversimplification by him. First, where is his evidence that this is the case? Specifically, where is his evidence that the majority of Canuck fans are outraged and hypercritical after a loss? This is misunderstanding a pretty simple factor. People that are angry are more likely to speak up than people that are less upset. Second, where is the evidence that Canuck fans are outraged by losses? I see dissatisfaction with the process in which the game unfolds, and not necessarily with the end result. TL;DR: MacIntyre's oversimplification seems to be a result of not actually knowing how Canucks fans feel and instead using a few anecdotes on social media to inform his opinion. Well said. In business we strive to please all customers knowing that leaving even one unsatisfied customer will do more harm the good of having 50 satisfied. The old expression the squeaky wheel gets the grease still runs too. That's why you see most of the callers on 1040 always complaining. Most people that are more satisfied couldn't be bother to waste all that time calling or even posting on these boards non stop complaining. People that are upset want to have their voices heard. I actually don't think this is going to be an issue. Apparently there were 2 teams willing to take their full pop this year. Also, we can still take back 3.5 mil on one Sedin, and eat some salary on an expiring contract coming the other way and its all good. The Canucks Army article did have one thing very right imo, the idea that the fans are mad about "how" we're losing not "that" we are losing. Losing with Megna is just a loss. Losing with Boucher is potentially building for the future. There's a huge difference and most fans can see that, and that is the root of a lot of the anger towards WD. erkayloomeh
Ive always liked ian mac. I think that Wd plays the players that he does sometimes is not necessarily because they are the best player but because they are playing the way he wants them to. Exactly right. No team is taking the twins without sending close to equal garbage contracts back to Van. No thanks, I'd rather stick it out with the twins, for another season, and see them ride off into the sunset in blue and green. As hard as it is to watch now, they've earned that respect from fans. Trust me, I know where the issues lie with and around this org. Most of it around dimwits who feel the need to lash out and just move from target to target. Some in the media, some on this board, some are both.
