The Vancouver Connection
Hey Guys - this thread is for all the home owners out there. Will be closing on my condo next week and wanted to get your advice on who provides great home insurance, at a good price with great customer service...I know I'm asking for a lot. I've heard horror stories about some providers, just wanted to get your thoughts and recommendations! Thanks!

Crabcakes
Your strata will have insurance if for example, pipes burst and damage your personal property. The deductible is often $10-20k though. You can get insured for the shortfall. Edit: Of course your strata's insurance won't cover your personal things in case of fire or theft
Grapefruits
I went with my local credit union. Way cheaper than what anyone else was offering. I'm insured by Lloyds of London. Never had to use it though.
goalie13
I've been buying my insurance through BCAA for over 20 years. Only had a couple of smaller claims and they were handled quickly and with no hassle.
luckylager
I've got mine with BCAA. I've always used them for car insurance and saved 10% by "bundling", their travel insurance is good too.
