The canucks are at a fork in the road. The can go so many diffrent directions for next year. But here is my thoughts. Looking at the draft this year if we get one of the top two forwards in Patrick or Hischier. I think one of the top 2 forwards can make the jump next year. I think Virtanen will have a shot again next year to show what he can do. I also think that Sbisa will be lost to Vegas. Dorsett will be hard to move but if we could that would be awesome. Will the canucks go for a hard rebuild and trade the farm? Even with this line up we will be a lower tier NHL team again Sign Lauri Korpikoski Sign Chad Johnson Baertschi - Horvat - Granland Sedin's - Erickson (Less ice time, less pressure for Erickson) Goldobin - Sutter - Besser Dorsett - Gaunce - Korpikoski Boucher / Virtanen depending on his showing at camp Tanev - Edler Hutton - Gudbranson Stecher - Tryamkin Juolevi Markstrom Johnson Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also if we are going to get a career backup why not eat some cap of Dallas and take Neimi? The Canucks are going to suck again next year so acquiring tradeable assets and trading players we currently have is a way to acquire prospects and picks. Trade Sutter this summer for an A- prospect. Sign Hanzal for two-three years and trade him for picks/prospects in the future. The worst thing this team can do is stand idle and hope things work out. Trade Edler and sign a UFA D short term Franson? The Canucks will need to make changes while allowing kids to play and develop. Whether thats Boeser in Utica with Virtanen or up at the big club if they deserve it. But the last thing Benning can do this summer is nothing. We are going to suck no matter what next year... Bo Bo Horvats 1st year in the Canucks he started the year off in the 3ed line.... Labate has done nothing to prove that he deserves the gift of being a 4th line player. Bachman is also a carrer backup yo-yo goalie. Now eating some cap for Neimi is not a bad Idea if we can get something in return. Canucks fans are forgeting something. NTC do hold a meaning. Sutter has a NTC. We can ask him to wave it. But he does not have to. Edler has a NTC. We can ask him to wave it. But he does not have to. The biggest problem canucks fans have is over valuing prospects. The canucks are going to go through a few bad years coming up here. Allowing kids to play and develop but lets sign some rental players to take up roster spots. I don't get it.
