How did Brock look? I missed the game.

said he was in tears when parents got to announce the starting lineup.  It was the coaches idea to do that, what a nice gesture for the family and a new player to feel welcomed.

something many willie haters ignore, not to mention how somehow the following players seem to be developing incredibly well in spite of him??? lol

Bo

Baer

Granny

Try

Stech

Hutton

Sbisa

Basically most of our future core but ya he sucks LOL - blind hatred, shows a level of idiocy that is unmatched

If Willie D was the coach you seem to feel he is, then why would he repeat the same process and expect different results where our powerplay is concerned. For 2.5 years it's been our  achillies heel and he's failed to adapt in any meaningful way.

As far as the growth of our young core, Stecher started in the minors and was given a chance only because of injury and his play gave the coaching staff no choice but to play him.

Tryamkin started the season with the team only because he would bolt for the KHL if sent to the minors and was a healthy scratch until injuries provided him an opportunity as well.

Horvat was described by Wille D in the off season as a defensive specialist not a scorer and was deployed on the fourth line to start the season after leading the team in scoring in the second half of last season as a 20 year old.

Hutton actually regressed this season, at least through the first half of the season he was mired in terrible sophomore slump and has just recently regained some of the form he showed in his rookie season.

Sbisa has been decent at times and mediocre at best but talked about highly throughout the season simply because he'd set the bar so low in his tenure thus far as a canucks.

Bear and Granny are the only two of your examples I feel truly have succeeded/benefitted by Willies coaching rather than in spite of it.

I feel that your love for Willie D has made you blindly overlook all of his flaws and failings. And I don't believe those whom are astute enough to see the the whole picture should be referred to as idiots!

P.S. Did you notice that Reid Boucher scored 2 goals midway through the game but had only 6 mins of ice time after 2 periods. How much ice time do you think Chaput had? Sorry if I'm a blind idiot for noticing that.

Willie is a class act, always has been. This doesn't surprise me a bit.

Blake Price and Sekeres too, they could use a good muzzling!

Yeah really. The Vancouver hockey media are like pro wrestling heels. The whole enterprise is in serious need of a rethink. Torch it, burn to the ground and rebuild something more akin to what we see in the other 29 markets, not this farce.

Thought I'd help. ::D

And no, a coach like Hitchcock isn't a good fit for developing a new young core.  We need a coach who's good teacher, has lots of minor/junior league experience and won multiple championships with them.... NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I'll take Gallant

If we could somehow muzzle the likes of Jeff Patterson and Jason Botchford I'm convinced we wouldn't have much of a problem here in this regard.

I don't get Patterson.  One minute he sounds like he understands that Willie wants these guys to earn their ice time by being aware of all things in the game, not just when they go on an offensive rush, the next, he starts banging the same old drum about giving kids a chance.

Stick to your guns Willie.  Make em earn it.

Patterson is smart enough to get it.  Many of the others, I wonder.  Or it could be, they just don't think about things.  At all.

He's a glorified pro wrestling heel as I said earlier. Sometimes he forgets to keep kayfabe I guess.

Just finished watching the third on delay.

Bachman played very solid making numerous great saves.  Kid deserves a chance to be  FT back up...if not here, somewhere.

Edler needs to go...not just because of his careless play but he is soft as butter.  Stetcher needs to start playing with Tryamkin.  Minny was targeting Stetcher physically all game - especially in the third - and Edler did nothing.  Trade him or expose him. He is not a fit for this group going forward.

WD coached a good game until the third when he decided to shorten his bench and over play the vets. There is stubborn and then there is WD.

If the twins don't retire after this season (highly doubtful) they need to be spit up if they are going to be trusted late in games.  They are a defensive nightmare and too often, are on for untimely goals or bad penalties that can be momentum changers.

The kids really showed their stuff tonight. Bo's line was deadly and Boucher with only 6+ minutes showed his offensive prowess. If he can get in shape and work a bit on his defensive game, he has the potential to be a serious offensive threat.

Boeser...wow! Not only did he not look out of place, he was one of our better forwards.  His speed and puck handling look NHL-ready and his positioning and defensive awareness were impressive.  All that and he was tired and hadn't yet practised with the team.  The immediate chemistry with Baer and Bo was evident.

Great to see the kids carry the team to a win. That was enjoyable.

I don't have a problem with the earn your ice mantra, but when WD puts out the twins out in the third and they proceed to cough up the puck defensively repeatedly leading to the first goal, it is hard to justify punishing the kids or making them earn it.  Our weakest defensive players tonight were our Swedish vets.

I, for one, don't get the majority of this fan base. We need the kids to play, they lose 5 of 7 games, and it's I'm never watching this crap of a hockey team again. Make up your minds kids, it's going to be a year or two of growing pains. Think of old buggars like me, 47 years of waiting, waiting, waiting!
