RetroCanuck
Canucks sign Dahlen to an entry level contract! https://www.nhl.com/canucks/news/dahlen-signed-to-three-year-contract/c-288968944 Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the Canucks have signed forward Jonathan Dahlen to a three-year entry level contract. "Jonathan is a very skilled player with good hands and goal scoring abilities," said General Manager Jim Benning. "He had a terrific year playing in Sweden and we're excited to see him at training camp as he continues to grow and develop into an NHL player." Dahlen, 19, registered 44 points (25-19-44) with Timra this season and was the recipient of the 'Golden Cage' awarded annually to the best junior player in the Allsvenskan. The 5-11, 176-pound forward registered six points (5-1-6) in seven games for Sweden at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship. He also led Sweden in scoring at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka tournament with five points (4-1-5) in five games. A native of Ostersund, Sweden, Dahlen was acquired from Ottawa in exchange for Alex Burrows on February 27, 2017. He was originally selected by Ottawa in the second round, 42nd overall, at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Great news for Utica and the Canucks! Excited to see him in North America soon! Beary Sweet
yes! Benning continues to give me and everyone hope with these signings. can't wait to see how he does next training camp. he should easily earn a spot if he plays well. the future looks really bright. this kid has a lot of offensive potential and should fit in well with our team. elated to have this kid aboard

Ronaldoescobar
Great news getting Dahlen signed although I think it will be a while until we see him with the big club as wasnt he going to play a year or two more in Sweden then probably a few in the AHL. BCNate
I am really excited to see him,Virtanen and Boesser in Utica to start next year. It has been a long time since we had so much skill down there.
Derp...
Yaa hoo, Will be nice to have a player with skill waiver free for the first time in a while. We'll be measuring him against Forsberg in his first AHL season from the looks of things.
