I thought They get guaranteed 3rd worst standing odds regardless of there record. At least For the first 3 years

That was one of the proposed rules that the league considered but ultimately ended up scrapping. I am thinking a whole bunch of GMs complained.

Ludicrous!

Why judge a player based on where he's from rather than his actual words? There's clearly a lot of opportunity on this team at the moment given our situation. It actually does make sense for him to come here for opportunity.

You can get up in arms all you want, but believe it or not, there are people out there that have good intentions.

Per source Vegas is after Evgeni Dadonov too, deal can be signed soon

Smart move if McPhee pulls it off.

Read rumours today (just weak sources so far) of Dadonov's deal coming in at $3.5 million AAV.

Ship+Dado for $8 million per would be a great start for Vegas. Very reasonable cap hits. And if their NHLe projections hold (roughly 80 and 60 NHL points/season respectively) this would represent 2/3 of pretty good first line. Especially for an expansion team's opening roster. And one signed on the relative cheap.

I know they haven't drafted yet but this is gonna be a team that'll challenge for the playoffs... I keep doing the mock draft and the team they make is incredible for an expansion team... not to mention the UFA's they'll have access too.

Heres my quick team... 10.5 mill cap space to spend in FA market including Ships salary. This is definitely a playoff team IMO. Man I wish, we were the expansion team this year lol...

80 points?!?!?! Jesus this guy must be  the real deal. Very few players reached 80 this season.

Those are the projections I read in a recent article on the top KHL free agents.

It's based on NHLe which assigns roughly 0.8 NHL points for every KHL point.

Quick math check seems right.

Shipachyov scored 190 points in his last 153 KHL regular season games (past three seasons).

190pts/153GP x 0.8 NHLe * 82 game season

= 81 points per season in the NHL

It'll be interesting to see if the numbers hold true.

I'm slightly more conservative and don't predict a perfect NHLe conversion. I'd say he gets closer to 60-70 points. But he could very well prove to be a point per game player in the NHL.
