Screw
Horvat line is considered #1 line for the entire season. Boeser impresses and scores over 15 goals. Sedins play their last season tally points in the mid 40's Virtanen disappoints and spends the season up and down the line up. He plays mostly 3rd/4th line and is a healthy scratch some nights. Olli Juolevi plays in the NHL, mostly in the 3rd pairing but shows positive signs he will be a quality player. Markstrom play alright but not well enough to solidify himself as the starter for years to come. Goldobin shows flashes but is inconsistent. Jonathan Dahlen nearly forces himself onto the roster but plays another season in Europe. Tanev remains a Canuck and is a leader on the team. Gudbranson shows his worth and is a physical presence and a leader. Brandon Reid plays well and is a regular in the line-up. Beartchi plays well. no big leaps in play though. Sutter finally puts together an injury free season. Finds himself of the wing many games and is productive. Shows his versatility. He is traded at the deadline for a decent return. Grandlund puts together a quality campaign. Canucks miss the playoffs again. Slotted to pick 4th in the draft pre-lotto.
IBatch
The Sedins have a modest resurgence both scoring 65 pts. Del Zotto improves our PP which is the main reason the Sedins improve, porn stars are in hiding until we trade him and an annual subscription to porn.hub at the deadline for Vegas 2nd rounder in 2018. Tanev finally gets traded, but unfortunately it's not for Duchene. CDC collectively sighs and rejoices for no more threads on the subject...until one hour later when some numbnuts starts a thread for getting him back. Boesser scores 39 goals, is our leading goal scorer but finishes fourth in Calder voting because he gets 40 points overall. Horvat scores sixty points, gets the A. Markstroms stats go up slightly. Nilsson stats are similar, they both play around 40 games. Demko sees a few games at the end of the year when we are mathematically removed from the playoffs in Feb. Plays well, reason for optimism Hippy. Forwards are routinely pushed around until Virtanen and Pedan are called up late Dec. Never happens again for remainder of season, and our winning percentage goes up slightly afterwards. We finish the season with a modest ten point improvement, and win the lottery, and pick Dahlin. danaimo
Canucks finish the season in 23rd / 24th spot. Queen Elizabeth II dies due to complications after a freak snowboarding accident. Chris Tanev gets traded. Markstrom starts season as #1 goalie but suffers a few meltdowns, Nillson gets the crease and by the end of the season is getting 2/3 of the starts. Donald Trump makes some reasonable statesmanlike policies and becomes a celebrated figure of world peace. Markus Granlund and Sven Baerschi each score 25 goals. Loui Eriksson scores 20 goals. Jayson Megna plays less than 12 games with the big club. Demko, Juolevi, McEneny, Subban, Virtanen, Goldobin, Dahlen, Palmo and Godjovich spend most of the season playing together in Utica and are one of the top AHL teams and go to the Calder Cup final. People living in the temperate rainforests of coastal BC complain about the rain. It will rain. Calgary miss the playoffs and they are ranked lower than 20th in the NHL for goals against

Burnt Gravy
I predict a lot of disappointment people in this forum. We will ride the waive of new players and coaching staff into Christmas then start to crumble from injury lack of depth. Our small forward group will deteriorate and we will spiral into the basement getting another top 5 pick.
Rick_theRyper
Canucks have a record of 45-28-9 =99points. Make the playoffs. Epic show down of Edmonton vs Vancouver. 7 games Virtanen the OT winner. Bo, Boeser, Granlund, Bear, Sutter, Gagner, Sedins, Vanek and Goldolbin. All scored 15+ goals. 20 plus for most with Boeser and Granlund really close to 30. Sedins rack up assits finishing with 70+ points. Bo and boeser +(line mate) having a stellar year all getting over 50 points. Anders Nilson one Punches Lucic in game 6 overtime after being slashed repeatedly.

HC20.0
The Sedin's don't bounce back, but don't regress further either. Baertschi has breakout year, hits 50 points, 20 goals. Granlund keeps his 20 goal pace. Eriksson and Gudbranson both bounce back and surprise a lot of people. Eriksson caps 20 goals. Boeser has hot start, flames out, but picks it up again to hit 35 points. Gagner hits 40 points. Hutton improves dramatically, nets 30 points. Edler and Tanev stay about the same. Rodin is the surprise of the year. Bags 20 goals. Horvat gets closer to 60 points, replaces Henrik as captain in the off season. Markstrom out performs Nilsson, does okay. 915 Save% Gaunce scores this season. Juolevi gets sent down to Junior Virtanen shows huge improvement in Utica. Del Zotto flops, Holm surprises. Canucks take teams by surprise, improve from top 5 to top 10 pick. Still miss the playoffs. Edler waives at the TDL, traded. Sedin's stay. Edmonton, Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto, and Winnipeg all make the playoffs. Montreal misses, Bergevin finally gets fired. Chicago makes the second round this year after their embarrassing exit. Carolina finally enters the playoffs. Nashville wins the west again. Pittsburgh bows out in the CF. Dallas goes beyond the first round. Bold Prediction of the year: The Ducks and Sharks both falter and actually miss the playoffs. LA makes it.
oldnews
Utica contends for a Calder Cup. The Canucks hover around the 9 to 11 spot in the West - and have some assets to move at the TD if they fall out of the race. Edler has his best season in years (assuming their blueline is relatively healthier than in past years) - owing in part to a great season by Tanev, who continues to emerge. The team rolls with four middle six lines - no real 1st and 4th lines - a balanced lineup that has more depth but not really the top end. The last three forward spots are as unpredictable as they've been in a long time owing to some improved veteran and youth depth. No 30 goals scorers but a handful of potential 20 goal scorers. Granlund and Baertschi in particular have very good seasons - as does Eriksson, who has a bounce back year. Gudbranson re-signs with Vancouver iin the second half of the year. Boeser forces his way onto the opening night roster. Virtanen right on the cusp. Vanek is a question mark for me - looks like he may be a harder working version of his younger self (hopefully, as I wasn't a fan of the Vanek of the past) - needs to be to stick or could find himself on the outside. The team meets Green's criteria/expectations - of improving.
JustRich
Danny hits 1000 points by December Sedins experience a renaissance year, get re signed to a one year contract. Bo-baer-boeser becomes our most dominant line. Marky shines and the team misses the wildcard spot by a couple of points. Successful campaign by a team on the upward trend. TheGuardian_
Will wait a bit more before too much detail but in the mean time; History shows, the lower ranked teams usually do very well in the beginning of the year, IMO to take advantage of 2/3 months of selling hope and it helps bolster season ticket sales. This is not just a Canuck thing, it seems almost all the bottom feeders start out with "interesting" calls in the beginning and near the top of the division, towards mid November a slide starts. Come December/January GM's are giving the confidence in the coach speech. Usually a two or three game winning streak follows. Then comes the injuries speech and the "how hard it is to trade" speech. Close to the TDL, with the team 6 to 8 points out of a wild card, the "I think we can be there speech", maybe an adjustment in the coaching ranks. At the TDL, the "how hard it is to make a trade" speech again or a couple of players/prospects are moved for some other team's crumbs, players other teams can't make work for their winning teams. As an example only because they are here, the Nucks last year got 3 wins in the start without ever leading a game. This has nothing to do with the players or how good the team is/was, it has to do with game management and has been close to this way for 18+ years now. That is why 88% of the teams in a playoff position on Dec 1 go on to the playoffs, it is a result of the loser point, the 88% thing, not the start of the season stuff. This will be a difficult season.
stuman491
Team Prediction: Canucks will improve on their season from last year. Finishing ahead of both the Coyotes and Kings in the Pacific. Instead of 28th we will finish 26th. Both Colorado and Vegas will be be worse than us as well. That is 12th in the west. The Sedin's will be split up permanently this year (except on the power play). Players: Jake Virtanen makes the team out of camp and works his way into a top 6 role. Granlund, Baer, Horvat, Daniel and Eriksson all score 20 goals. EagleShield
A bit of a rebound due to new coach and done good free agent signings. Finish 26/27th, but the lottery balls are kind to us. Pettersson to make his NHL debut after SHL finishes.

NHTyrany
Sedins have a good start but fall to the injury bug. The kids step-up but are pummelled by most western teams. Nucks finish 10th in the West .
