Green said earlier that Jake has come a long way and if he works hard over the summer he will be pushing for a roster spot

So glad he had that experience with Green. Now that Green is here, it gives Jake a deeper goal to strive toward. It's happening organically too.

Gaudreau is the exception...

Funny.  We pick Pettersson and everyone bashes because he's skinny,  but the Oilers pick Yamamoto and everyone in this thread is all positive saying the Oilers are becoming likeable and other B.S..  gee.  Wonder why.

Yamamoto is a midget. He's going yo get crushed in the west.

Pat Kane says hi.

Around 1.5 points per game at junior, not many players rack up that many points. It'll be interesting to see what he does next year but if he keeps improving he's going to be scary good.

Exactly, Green also said it's good for young players to go through some adversity, Jake needed that,  he had a somewhat privileged attitude while up , it takes a lot to get the Sedins criticizing you but he now sounds like a guy that has grown and 'gets it'

He is 18, when he is 21-22 he will have filled out. People forget that these players are kids

I believe he will too. Played against men at ~164 lbs. and excelled. Imagine if he had been ~180-190 lbs.

For me it was always Pettersson or Makar; Glass is the safer pick and will be good, but since we don't have the lottery luck to guarantee a game-breaker at 1 or 2, why not shoot for the stars?
