Popular Post cory40
That seemed to be the story for Pettersson all game: he played well, but things just didn’t quite click. Pettersson was personally dissatisfied with his game, noting how frequently he fell to the ice and suggesting that he wanted it too much. https://www.st.nu/sport/ishockey/elias-pettersson-sjalvkritisk-efter-vm-debuten-men-hyllas-av-forbundskaptenen-ar-ett-passningsgeni “It goes a little faster out there,” said Pettersson via Google Translate. “It's faster game and you have to be faster in mind, but I'm prepared.” On the other hand, his linemate and captain, Mikael Backlund, was quick with the praise for Pettersson, noting how much space he creates for his teammates with his passing. His head coach was even more effusive with his praise. “Är ett passningsgeni,” said Rikard Grönborg, which basically translates to, “He is a passing genius.” Pettersson skated on the right wing of Sweden’s second line with Gustav Nyquist on left wing and Backlund at centre. He appeared with the same group on the second power play unit, taking up his usual spot on the right side. He never quite got to unleash his deadly one-timer; his only opportunity came on a pass that was just a little too far in front of him. 1
Dazzle
Honestly, the fact that he didn't produce the one game is good for character building. Pettersson's going to produce the next game. He's going to make sure of it. It will reinforce to him how hard it actually is, even though he just dominated the best league in Sweden.

It's okay to be excited and optimistic. 2 1 1

smithers joe
you can tell the kid has all the talent in the world. but he is not strong enough yet on his skates. i see him, a year away from the nhl.
Rollieo Del Fuego
EP made everything he did ...work... The whole game he only made one flub...missing on a one-timer, from a short hard pass....everything else he tried to do either worked directly or worked out.. The problem was he didn't get many chances, low ice time and Nyquist stole his goal...shooting from EP's spot on the right side. EP keeps forgetting he is not supposed to be able to fly...he just about took off...ala Bobby Orr at least once...trying to backcheck...the kid has a tonne of spunk ...he just has to remember humans can't fly.... There is no doubt in my mind he was the most talented player on the ice...! Edited May 5, 2018 by Rollieo Del Fuego

Zhukini
It's always taken him a little bit this year, he didn't start the regular season or playoffs particularly well and we all know how that ended up. I'd expect more of what we were expecting by game 3 or even next game. 1

Perhaps just a summer. :). His skating /falling could be due to time off. He hasn't skated in game action for a while.

Yeah he is only going to get better. They really limited his ice time too. That probably doesn't help lol

My guess the way the kid learns, he will master that obstacle too and be able to play without gravity interfering sooner than later. Time is still a bit of a remaining obstacle but until he gets that last Infinity Stone, he needs to rely upon his other abilities.

Cut to Marchand, "Mr. Chara, I don't feel so good."
