ruilin96
What I am impress with EP is that even if he is "struggling" and having a bit of a "slump," he is still an a point a game player as of now.

He is a #1 line center who can produce a lot of points and also very responsible defensively. Toughest piece of the puzzle of a cup winning team to find is a that dominant scoring center who is responsible defensively as well. Give him another year or two, he will become a top 5 player in the league.

That's it! 8 points in 8 games. If he can score like this until the end of the season.. hell 82 points in his 2nd year, with much more attention from the opponents. Wait until EP40 and Brock find their ways back to the net, damn, this line will demolish some teams. 1
MoneypuckOverlord
its time to split him up and from Brock. Teams have them figured out.
Snapshot85
Petty is just playing fine Look... hes on pace for over 80 points!! Hes first one the team in points followed by.jt and brock his line mates. That's a hell of a player. At this point.. his role has changed a bit playing with JT... watch him Hes using his skill to be a playmaker instead of a sniper... Playmakers get more assists...just the way it is. If he gets 20g 60a. Im Ok with that.... we still are scoring I think everyone needs to stop thinkin of petty as only a goal scoring machine This shift in role will help us as we move forward No ones saying he cant be a sniper again.. but for the moment this is working Cheers

Is another level or evolution in EP40’S game. He is going shoulder to shoulder and being just as physical with opposing D men.. he is standing his ground and creating more time and space because he is becoming harder to move. Green knows what he’s doing,. He is dealing with a very young highly talented player who is playing under the weight and strength that his 6’2-6’3 frame will mature into. By Christmas,. Much will balance out again. Just imagine when EP does fill out and plays around 200-210 pounds. Given EP's competitiveness and skill level, I see a second coming of Peter Forsberg but hopefully less injury prone.

Popular Post -AJ-
I'm really baffled at how many people think Petey is starting off slow. He had 66 points in 71 games last year for a points-per-game of 0.930. This year he has 10 points in 9 games so far for a points-per-game of 1.111. I have to assume it's the 2 goals that are making people freak out, but I wouldn't look past his 8 assists. 3 1 1

Toyotasfan
Who’s the second line anymore, more balance means less of other teams focusing primarily on Petey . 1

That defensive play he made in the third, when he dove to intercept a cross-crease pass, was amazing! Then he got up, skated fast up the ice, and set up the Schaller goal. The kid is absolutely a brilliant player. He reads the game at hyper speed. 1

Considering he went pointless in his first 2 games, he's actually collected his team leading 10 points in just 7 games. By any standard that's an elite pace. The eye test does tell a slightly different story though. He's not dominating play like he was in the first half of last season, and his shot is off. Hell, he'd probably be the first person to acknowledge this as well. Luckily for us, he's talented enough and works hard enough to still put up fantastic numbers even when he's 'struggling'. Not that I've had the chance to see many of his SHL highlights from a couple years ago, but I imagine how he's playing now at least somewhat resembles how he started his 2017-2018 SHL season. Somewhat quietly putting up good numbers before he really found his game and took off. 2
