You make it sound like McDavid has run away with goal scoring and points. My recolition has him getting lots of points when the games didn't matter. Anyways laugh all you want Elias is coming so McDavid can get one maybe two more Art Ross trophies . And it will be his last because McDavid has to be at top speed to get points Where as Elias has more all end Talent. And nothing to be ashamed of he is not Canadian, so we havn't seen as much as Elias. So listen to the Swedes. There is plenty of cap space left after McDavid and Draisaitl and those two are a great core to build around. The Lucic contract is the problem. They had some money to spend on complimentary forwards but gave it all to a declining player that didn't suit the style of their team. Despite that they still have enough money left to pull together a pretty good team, that just requires better management, they have the hardest things to get in a generational talent and another dynamic top line centre. Vegas is only an anomaly in that they are a first year expansion team. About every other year this happens where an okay team that plays a solid team game rides hot goaltending to the finals. Sometimes, though not usually, they even win. Hard to build around this as a model. All teams want to roll four talented lines including the ones led by Crosby+Malkin, Toews+Kane, Ovechkin+Kuznetsov. EP is full on Franchise already and I can see him being more valuable will scoring roughly as many points as McD.,.... It was McD. who lost us the world championships with an own zone giveaway that looked like Gagme doing it....all the while our own Bo almost won the thing anyway.
