Last night the team was shut out by the Bruins and were boo'd off the ice after the first and second periods and I don't know if there were enough fans left in the building at the end of the game to voice their displeasure. No sympathies. Sabres outright tanked for McDavid then the GM at the time pouted like a little brat when they didn't get the 1st overall. Sounds like they're still paying he price for that. The Sabres way overpaid Eichel, and then made him their captain. Eichel needs to lead that team on and off the ice. Is he capable of that?

I mean I only cheer for the Canucks but definitely have a soft spot for the sabres, if there is any team other than the Canucks that I want to win the cup it's Buffalo. I wanted them to get McDavid, at least over the coilers, but yeah I couldn't stand that GM. I hope he gets blacklisted. And I'll always love these jerseys

Not all these players will make the NHL and if they do will not be more than journeymen. That is a reality that all NHL orgs are faced with. Rebuilding an org from nothing takes many years. Canuck fans have already seen 5 years go by. Fans wanting to see something now is natural but that has to be couched in the realization that it could be another 5 years before the Canucks are serious CUP contenders. If it happens sooner than I will but not counting on it. One of the real signs of a maturing org is when it is willing to develop players at a pace that fits their needs and not the fans. The Vancouver Canucks have had a long history of rushing players into the NHL to fit a need. That process has killed careers and at best has minimized the potential of many players. I am a Canucks fan. I have been since 1982. What makes me one isn’t their record, it’s that they were always the lunch box team. Back in the eighties, they were blue collar guys, Our team was an extension of Stan Smyl, still can’t figure out which way his nose pointed. Then can Trevor Linden who missed an invite to a pre draft combine because he was gelding bulls on the family farm, Heart and soul player, he was never the best but he never quit. Combined with the second best goalie and true heir to King Richards in Capt Kirk. The give it your all approach and play your best hockey in the playoffs and Bure’s out of this world talent, it was the most exciting team in club history. The WCE days almost re kindled the Linden era, the talent was there, but things went bad with the Moore incident. Still to this day I have never seen a series of events take down a contender faster. The Sedin era had more class than any other, more skill and all the pieces to get to the cup. As good as the record was and the players, this team only just ranks ahead of the WCE era and way below the Smyl era. My worst experience as a fan was the dispointment I felt in the final. It wasn’t that we lost, it was the way we lost. The heart of the club was lost in that final and the group never got it back. Why I like our young players so is that I see a new energy and hopefully this bunch of players can find some of that heart. I want to cheer for a team that goes out and plays its guts out, win lose or draw every game. If JB can’t get that out of this group players, whether he signed them inherited them or drafted them, then he should be fired. Being impatient for a cup, whatever. Give me a team I can cheer for and I think JB has at least drafted players I can cheer for. Edited October 6, 2018 by Phat Fingers

Noble 6
I kind of hope an OHL contender trades for him so we can see him with a good team in the Playoffs again. He was good against the Knights 2 years ago and amazing in the Memorial Cup.

Slept late this morning and I'm just finishing my coffee. Brain is only just firing up and still prone to errors. DiPietro should get the start tonight versus Sarnia (7:05 ET start, 4:05pm in Vancouver). Edited November 3, 2018 by SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME Fixed a bunch of mistakes. Told you my brain wasn't working! There seemed to be some let down coming from an off-season where he had a lot of smoke blown up his rear and his compete level was impact - perhaps by fatigue. I have noticed his glove hand and rebound control have improved a LOT over the past few weeks. I also notice his feet are less "active" which is important in being more consistent.
