Hard question to answer. As a Canucks fan at the moment I look forward to draft day the most, closely followed by TDL. As a hockey fan the period around free agency is the most exciting for me, always fun watching free agent signings.

TDL is most exciting to me because I feel like that's when the league sees it's biggest splashes. Draft day is my next favorite. It's exciting seeing all the newbies, but at the end of the day it's all hype and futures;  you won't know if any moves were of substance until much later. Free agency is meh.

These days, the draft is more exciting, but historically, I've always been more excited for Free Agency. The trade deadline has never been very exciting for me.

 

This year, I'm not particularly excited for the Free Agent day since I don't expect (or hope) that we'll make any big splashes. Just re-signing some guys and filling in the gaps of guys we are losing.

I know its not one of the above choices but draft lottery day for me. This year it didn't really have as much of an impact as previous years but that is the day where a bit of luck can drastically change the future.

i'd agree with the posters who said it's relative to where we are as a team.

i remember I used to be so excited for Free Agency (except watching Nonis always try to get five discount guys for the price of one good player)

Trade Deadline is always fun whether we're buyers or sellers (this last one being the most exciting in years)

And the Draft is currently the most fun by a landslide - again, Nonis (Patrick White) still causes me to shudder

Draft Day. I love the pure excitement of these young men and their families as their names are called. This day is the day that hopefully pays off for years of hard work and dedication for both the players and their parents. As others have noted, it is more important to a re-building team like ours and it is always great to see and hear the reaction of these players as they join the fold.

Draft day.

 

If you asked me in 2010 I'd say Free Agency.

 

But since we suck a lot now, I'm just looking forward to seeing new young players enter the system.

 

I hope we don't touch anything in Free Agency other than a depth D-man for a 1-3 mil contract.

Olympic Final day beats all three for me, but free agency is the most fun. Seeing teams throwing good money after bad players never gets old.
