If Benning was looking for a worldclass powerplay guy to mentor our D-corps on a short term deal (maybe even 1 year), he should have gone Markov instead of Del Zotto. Markov is basically a decade older than M.D.Z., likely a lot more expensive and injury prone (missed a long time last season), plus he's said to want to return to Montreal on a two-year deal which takes him to 40 yrs old. While he's more established on the PP it's not a bad idea to buy a lottery ticket on a youngish guy who can still develop into a front-end PP guy, and someone who at worst can still be dealt for draft pick(s) Good move by Jim.. Old school nuck Posted July 8, 2017 Share Posted July 8, 2017 Why didn't the poster state whether he was a lhd or rhd as it makes a big difference. The positions are not interchangeable. Its the same with a winger, a left winger is different then a right winger and should be stated and not just we signed a winger or defenceman.
