[2017-2018] Canucks Prospect Stats Tracker

Recommended Posts

OP updated with stats through Saturday night.

Petterson approaching "historic" territory in terms of points per game for a player in the SHL/SEL (U19). Second only to Forsberg. Well ahead of guys like Nylander.

Gaudette put up a hattrick last night.

Tough one for Utica, losing 5-1 last night. Bachman was in net. Demko gets the start this afternoon.

Gadj is still injured.

Lind isn't on the same pace he was to start the year, but hopefully he'll still receive consideration for the World Juniors.

OP Updated with Stats through Saturday Night

Another great week for prospects.

Kole Lind is 7th in WHL scoring but 1st for his draft class. A trio of Swift Current Broncos are ahead of him, including draft eligible (born 1999) Aleksi Heponiemi.

Cole Candella's strong play has him third in team scoring on Sudbury and is currently 6th in dman scoring in the OHL. His strong play bumps him onto the main page.

Jonah Gadjovich is still out with a wrist injury which sadly could affect his chances at playing for TC at the World Juniors.

On the other hand, a guy that is helping solidify his spot with Canada is Michael DiPietro. He sits second in GAA in the OHL and third place is 0.3 goals per game behind him (that's a lot). The guy above him has only played in seven games. A more important stat, IMO, is SV%. DiPietro sits first in the OHL in that category.

Nikita Tryamkin has 0.5 p/pg in the KHL and is third on his team in scoring. He sits 15th in KHL dman scoring.

Thatcher Demko's wallet got a little thicker last night with his second call-up in as many weeks. Demko is 4th in the AHL in GAA and second in SV%. Of those playing more than 4 games, Demko is behind only Garrett Sparks of the Marlies in both categories. The Marlies have a stronger team, IMO.

Nikolay Goldobin is 18th in AHL scoring. Ahead of him are much older, essentially career AHLers (e.g., Cory Conacher, Peter Holland)

I don't need to say anything else.

In our, "Where are they Now" series....

Nicklas "Rick Nash" Jensen has 19 points in 25 games in the K.

Speaking of the K, Willie D's true love, no, not Jayson Megna, I'm talking Linden Vey, leads the KHL in points. Close behind him, in 5th, is Sergei "the fist" Shirokov. And who's in second in dmen scoring? Phillip "solving our PP" Larsen. Marc "the best 14 games of my life" Gragnani is also in the top 10 in dmen scoring in the K. Former Canucks draft pick Ilya Krikunov is 30th in scoring. Basically, if you want to have success in the third best league in the world, you go through the Canucks.

Frankie "asset management" Corrado was in town last night:

Alexander "3 degrees of separation from Pouliot" Mallet is lighting up both the Czech league and the silver screen for his part in Pantene Pro-V commercials:

Patrick "Plagiarism" McNally is no longer worried about APA citations as he returns to Massachusetts to light up the ECHL with the Worcester "Sauce" Railers.

Mason "Olympic Hopeful" Raymond has Bern SC on his back as he lights up the Swiss league in time to impress Big Willie

Chatfield with 0 points? wtf. he looked ready to crack our lineup in pre season. anyone know whats going on with him?

Preseason sprinkled with typical cdc hype and boom! Unrealistic expectations.

Cassels going to shut down mcdavid bro.

In all seriousness most reports from Utica regarding chatfield have been positive. He's never going to be one to put up pts but he'll do whatever it takes to win. Think tanev in his early years.

that sounds encouraging . im just a bit surprised he was a sniper in the pre season. i wonder if the quality of teammates or loss of adrenaline might be a factor. if i was this teams coach id of kept him for a 5-9 game trial stint.

very good news tho if he is super steady. love his skating ability and energy.

OP updated with stats through Saturday November 18th.

Both Demko and DiPietro (but especially DiPietro) have struggled lately.

Elias Petterson is now in "never before seen" territory with his p/pg average in the SweHL. Dahlen and Juolevi are also continuing to put up points.

Gadjovich is averaging nearly a goal a game in the OHL.

Cassels and Chatfield got their first points of the season (assists).

Brock Boeser is third among rookies in scoring. Leads in p/pg.

OP updated with stats through Friday night plus Petterson's game this AM.

Petterson is maintaining his never before seen pace in Sweden's top league. He is now tied for the league lead in scoring and eclipsed the best U20 p/pg pace set by Peter Forsberg.

Zack MacEwen is starting to heat up in his first pro season in the AHL. He now is averaging more p/pg than Shinkaruk.

Goalies are struggling a bit over the last couple weeks and DiPietro's SV% has dipped below last year's average.

Oh, and Brock Boeser is now in a tie for the rookie lead in points (has played fewer games than Barzal).

Since they both left CHL, McDavid hasn't scored or even registered an assist when Cassels is on the ice.
