Likely waived Mac as a sneaky move today. Brisebois is not eligible for waivers and can be sent down at any time. Also likely that management has watched a lot of Mac over the past year and seem to know what they have in him, whereas with Brisebois they figure he can show some more and benefit from being with the big club for as long as possible.

The above article^(McEneny exempt) sure is sweet news to me. Was pretty sure they'd lose the kid!

Is the fact that Subban was cut early alarming to anyone else?

Alarming? He's got another 2 years of development before he's ready, if he ever is... can't play defence.

Just edited my post, agreed x 1000. That's a pretty big relief. I know he's not exactly blue-chip, future of the franchise type material, but boy is he smart, solid, and improving. Worth this kind of reaction so much more than Corrado was.

Perhaps. I guess it only feels like it's been forever with this kid.

Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, we have D prospects that have surpassed him. Last year McEneny became Utica's most dependable D-man, and so far Chatfield and Brisebois are both projecting as NHL players, whereas Jordan may peak as a top 4 AHL offensive specialist. That wouldn't be the worst thing, especially considering he was a fourth round pick.

While I understand that Jayson Megna isn't an ideal player for the team, calling him a piece of trash seems a tad strong, no?

Nope.  While I'm sure he's a decent enough person off the ice, I've never seen a more pitiful excuse of a hockey player not named Andrew Ebbett.  It's imperative that we, as a fan base, do everything in our power to convince management to get rid of him.  There is literally zero excuse for him to even play one minute in the NHL this season, and if management hasn't figured that out yet than running him out of town is the responsible thing to do.

Not one bit.  Since he went pro, Stecher, McEneny, and likely Chatfield and Brisebois have all passed him on the depth chart.

I will be very intrigued in seeing Chatfield and Brisebois paired with a veteran and see how they do. If Chatfield continues to make a good impression maybe he could be this year's Stecher.

I still wouldn't mind seeing Subban in a pre-season game or two with NHL players, but I guess there's only 2 left so he didn't make it. It will be interesting to see what lineups they go with on Thursday and Saturday before the season starts in October.

He can't play D against prospects or AHLers, so what's going to happen against NHLers?

I'm just thinking maybe with a D partner to compliment him he might do a little better. It's hard to say though. He definitely needs more AHL seasoning.

Subban isn't processing the game at the speed or level he needs to.

He has one skill. One. Skating the puck. Everything else is deficient.
