We feel that Adam is close to Chytil in terms of prospect ceiling and we are excited to see what his potential holds. We are expecting some forwards to push for spots next season, Gaudette included, so this made Janmark available to upgrade our defence. We have coveted Jack for some time, and pieces finally fell into place for a deal to happen. Big thanks to @theminister for the quick negotiations, with this deal coming together rather quickly. Best of luck to Elias, Luke, Riley, Nail, Stephen, Mitchell and Mason with the Stars organization. They are definitely in good hands with the management team there. The Red Wings have been lacking a true #1 centre for some time now, and that all changes today. We see Jack as being a top 10 player in this league for years to come, and with an improving Sabres club IRL, we definitely see some big things coming from him. This does mean that some of our veteran players will need to be moved, but that is the natural progression of a club that is looking to compete. We are open to many offers and are in no rush to get a deal done until we are satisfied with the return. Jack brings a rare blend of size, speed and skill. He has all the tools to be an absolute gamebreaker, something that we felt our organization had been lacking. We’ve had the fortune of some good drafts where we were able to stockpile some great prospects, allowing us to make a deal of this magnitude today. We are thrilled to be able to hold onto our top prospects, including Jesse Puljujarvi, Eeli Tolvanen, Jack Roslovic, Jakub Vrana and Josh Norris - including our own 1st round pick this year. We feel we had the stable of prospects to move out the quality ones that we did without sacrificing our team’s future. Jack is a stabilizing player that will be bring much needed support down the middle, as much of that responsibility fell on Ryan O’Reilly the past few years. The Red Wings are making it known that they are open for business this offseason, and want to make whatever moves possible to get into a position to be contending again for a league title.
